Here's to what I believe is a happy ending to this whole story. (https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...les-aa/10660400-franken-rolex-16710-gmt-conus)

Got the watch from rockdaly today and got to work on it.

Movement running healthy OOTB.

All functions are working well and will be on the wrist for a day or two to ensure it is properly running before going back.

If you said:

- new correct seconds hand for the EXP
- swapping the setting lever jumper from a 3 position to a 2 position (wind and time set) on the Milgauss and the EXP
- removal of the yucky ARF 4130 facade and adding a correct 7750 rotor for better power reserve…

You were right!

Nice! I'm about to undertake the same mod. I removed those deco plates and that light weight rotor immediately. I'm just waiting for my proper 7750 oscillating weight and screw to be delivered.

Back on the bench as I needed some parts.

I decided I loved this blue Navitimer I got from @WatchKnob, but hated the damn gear slack on the A7750 on it... so what's the answer? Can you say... Valjoux? Actually, an ETA 7750 with 25 jewels.

But then, as always with things that should go easy, while removing the center hands, the seconds hand pinion snapped and remained inside the seconds hand. So... a new hand was sourced. Sadly, I did not find a full red one but this red-tipped one I found will suffice. Someday, I can just paint it red.

Yuuuummy. Look at that timekeeping!

After that, two water tests ensued. Who the hell water tests a Navitimer? Me, b*tch. Passed easily the 3 bar test, as per gen.

I was most surprised to see no bubbles during decompression. I obviously won't dive or anything. It's just rain and pool ready.

Look at thaaaaaat.

After that, I went ahead and lubed up my ZF 5167's gaskets and after getting @Nikz19 advice on how easily these things pass these tests, in it went. Water tested to 4 bars or 120m as the gen. Passed with great ease.! @oceaon, another reason why you need one!

Reviving this thread.

This watch has been with me for a long time. After getting it, I sent it to get serviced. The "Watchmaker" doing it messed up the balance so much that it would only run with a high beat error. Years passed as I was pissed at the money wasted. Finally, I decided to get it back up and running.

After finding a donor Bulova 11 BLACD movement, I cleaned, oiled, and transplanted the balance complete in. Here it is now, running beautifully.
