I’m learning what I can here. It is a shame photobucket screwed everyone. Many of the tutorials here no longer have pics. This thread and Natas’ Bible thread in the vintage section have some truly amazing builds. I only wish there were a few step by step process threads with each part needed for something like what you see in those threads.

@nycrounders if you want to keep using resin, UHU plast has an epoxy that has a working time of around 90 minutes, plenty of time there!

Thanks Nathan, I’ll try that and the binder you recommended. For different looks [emoji6]

Yes resin makes shiny plots and binder makes it matte

I went back to the basics, sterile Cali build. Dial by Nathan!

I still haven’t learned how to properly paint dials yet. A lot of videos where just spray painting the dial. Not sure if that is the way to go or air gun painting, for more layers and details.

I have lots of blanks to practice on though.

Had any luck with painting? I have been curious to see if you found any further info and had any luck with those blanks.

Not too much, I don’t want to spray paint and I don’t have room for an air gun . So I’m actually going to just paint it with a paint brush to see how it comes out. Will try it tonight and lume it next week.

Hope it comes out ok.

The paint I’m going to use is an all black Tamiya X18 acrylic paint.

I'm not a PAM expert whatsoever but these look very cool to my untrained eye.

Not too bad for a first try.

Will let it dry and see if it needs a second coat. Maybe a matte spray after.

Then will try to lume it for practice
