I gotta say, my first impression is I'm pretty impressed. I don't get the blue screws on the movement, but otherwise it seems a pretty good first attempt.
For the sake of my wife I hope they're coming out with the 513 soon as well.

I would buy it immediately, but the blue screws at the movement are the deal breaker for me. But I hope we see silver screws very soon.

I think they did a very good job indeed.
I'll be ordering one within the week.

Since you own the gen jamztio, what's your verdict on it?

Well, I think it's a pretty commendable effort by the maker, despite some flaws. A good effort for the first 42mm 1940 case. I'd get it if I didn't already have the gen.
Anyway, it looks a tad thicker from the pics but I'll reserve that judgment until I can compare it side by side. The crown area looks different as well, seems too close to the case. As for the movement, I personally prefer if the letterings aren't inverted and no blue screws.
From the front though, it looks great! with cp is still bigger than the gen.

Oh yes, the price is wonderful.

I had the Gen and sold it because i felt the watch looked unbalanced with the wording on top and the large blank space on the bottom. I did LIKE the watch but not enough to warrant keeping 6k invested into it. I will happily wear this 512 rep. I sold my gen last spring but from memory, this looks near spot on. I hope jamztio or someone still with the gen can do a nice side by side. All in all i only picked up the 512 because i was a day late and a dollar short on picking up the 338, my local AD sold it just before i went to grab it so i got the 512 as a consolation... i am anxiously awaiting the 338 which in my humble opinion wears much better (although smaller). Yes, to those who think this wears "too small" (a notion beyond me personally with a flat 7.5" wrist) do NOT buy the 338/337. It absolutely wears smaller than the 512.

My personal take on the size: I think this watch actually wears larger than a standard 42mm watch because of the large open dial. Do not compare it to how it wears compared to a 44mm pam or 47mm for that matter. compare it to how it wears against another 42mm watch.

Cheers,

I have the gen, the case shape looks very different from the back- the rep has a more rounded cushion shape, while the gen is flatter, especially coming towards the corners.

Front looks good to me.

It looks to me like that the lumen on the dial doesn't match the lumen on the hands. Is it like that on the gens also?

I do not think it would be difficult to remove the blue coating on the screws. But reworking the plate on the crown gear so that the two screws are properly positioned will require some work--need to remake it. Also, there seems to be some textural imperfections in the dial finish on the video. Price is certainly fair. Impressive that the bridges have functional jewels. 42mm is the size of a modern Sub. Should be a nice dress watch.

after watching the video on pure time, the cp appears sunken and pointy. just like in the photos of the 569 on various TDs websites. since when did kw/v6f suddenly become unable to do a simple CP correctly??? that's pretty disappointing imho

Should they be any different from what's out already?

No they shouldn't be any different, but KW always has very nice product pictures, which are usually much better than everyone else's. That's why I figured I would post them here for everyone's benefit

Ah, I see. I thought there was some other reason. Yes, they do take lovely product shots. :)

Does anyone know how the Chinese factories blue their screws? do they use heat or do they anodize? If it's anodized, then a simple soak in greased lightning will fix the issue. Heat bluing would be next to impossible to remove completely.
