@Limer thank you I tried beveling yesterday evening on a steel pocket watch with a $2 diamond file - good to know it takes off material pretty fast

haha i was surprised that the $2 file did it so well, im waiting for the high end file to arrive, it should be more uniform i belive the hardest part would be to do the polishing and keeping the edges sharp, any hints on that?Should probably invest in a good file as well... Mine is made for wood I believe
Thanks, I love it. That´s been worked on/shaped by Rolexaddict´s masterskills.Damn good looking watch man! Who did the PCG work?
once i get better with my modding skill i will be working on my 1675 the PCG on mine needs some thinning and chamfer workThanks, I love it. That´s been worked on/shaped by Rolexaddict´s masterskills.

i will probably use some electrical tape to template out the bevels before i polish, hopefully that will be enough to ensure that the bevels stay sharp. The edges will always get smoother with polishing as you can see on mine:
but you can do something that hasn't been done on this picture yet: After you polished it you take a bit of material of at the top give it the brushed look again. Thus you achieve a bit of a sharper edge. The most important thing with the chamfer work is to always try to keep the angle from which you "attack" the edges the same. If you don't get the angle right it will look more like a round edge instead of a sharp bevel.
Amazing photo Retina! Very nice.
