That's the way to go for the flakes and 1680. You don't need to break and scratch them down too much. There are existing gens that still look clean.

Couldn't agree more! It did take me a fair bit of time to find them that clean, but there's plenty of them out there - some people have great care for their watches, especially those who keep them in a safe for 20 years! :lol: Anyway, that's proof that we tend to over-vintagize reps sometimes... No need for that at all. Have a look at this 40 year old baby. No signs of wrinkles or bags under her eyes!

The only somewhat vintage 44mm Pam's are the Pre-V or Pre-A models. Here's my 45mm vintage Cali:
