Actually not, You should feel small resistant at the end. No "clicky sounds" nothing quite like. If it's new, send it back replace this one with another, contact Your dealer and explain the situation.

Mine lasted 36 hours first wind-up out of the box, but I'm not sure if I'm turning it enough. It just seems to keep winding and I'm not quite feeling that "resistance" so I stopped after 40 or so turns. Do you think I need to just keep going to get that 48 hour power?

Because of the crown guard you can't get a full 40 turns. 48-50 should do the trick.

Yeah thinking back I'm not 100% sure I felt that tension and "kick-back" at the end of the wind. I wound it a few more times until I felt that "kick-back" this time, so hopefully that'll do the trick. It doesn't sound like anything is wrong with it if I was able to get 36 hours off of a skeptical wind though.

Hmm, only got 39.5 hours the second time around, giving it a nice full wind. Is that still in "acceptable" range or is something wrong with it?
