Sorry for a noob question, but does gen's lume work anythime and without recharge from the sun?
As I have kw 312 it's always have to recharge from light to lume again.
But I know some watches that will lume all the time.
What kind of lume in kw 127?

Always need to be "recharged" with the light, Quartz watches based on batteries may have infinite lume light.

All lume in recent gen Pams require recharge. Reps - the same.

I ordered WSO crystal last month and it was bust. Too much harsh blue tint was simply deal breaker. Distortion was slightly better but excessive blue tint made me return it.
It seems like whatever WSO has now are diferent from early batch which made many members here happy about couple of years ago. Please share your own experience of WSO crystal if you happened to order recently.

:angrier:bad thing, WSO is not what I´d call cheap, in fact is EXPENSIVE. So, I 'd expect from them only excellence !!!
Thanks so much for the "advisory".

My plan was to gret KW ver and install a nice WSO crystal, may be a GEN strap and give it a definitive GEN look.

If I can not improve those nasty chinise-like crystal distosions with WSO and after realizing that minute hand is short/wrong shaped I feel like I'm giving up about new Fiddy. At least at or above 400$ . May be if the price of any version, ZF or KW, fall on sales I would reconsider.
Those things happen, may be next time.

If I recall correctly, some time ago Marlin documented the same issues with WSO crystals being as inconsistent in low diatortion as rep crystals, to the point that it was a hit or miss to get a good one.

I don't think the KW (or ZF) crystal looks that bad. You can see line distortion in the Shoes QC pictures but in the pictures of svshawn it looks good. Maybe there is some variation in quality from one crystal to another, but also on Noob versions you can see line distortion sometimes. But the minute hand on both versions needs to be fixed, it is really an easy tell.

Think of it this way. When was the last time someone grabbed your wrist and fixed the position to see distortion? It's so minor that imo doesn't warrant passing up. Again as others have pointed out if you look like you can afford the watch then no one will question it. And as another member said how many people have a 127 and would even know the difference. Conclusion: buy it enjoy it. [emoji16]

^ We are all watch junkies. If you think of it that way all the time when why even discuss other even smaller faults like the swiss made/sunburst effect on the movement side/minute hands incorrect etc etc.....ALL of other stuff is even smaller

I am a member of my country's risti group and trust me. Quite a number of them knows what to look for in identifying gens but of course, not as detailed as members here. We have seen retards posting fake 127s, 111s and even some of the latest models to be sold in the group (some of them are super reps) and they got called out every time. Imo, there are flaws that are easily called out like the distortion of crystal, shape of swan neck etc. Flaws that are hard to identify are shape of cases, lugs etc. When getting a super rep, i expect the no 'easy flaws' but they usually appear most of the time.

@svshawn Thanks! Yeah your crystal distortion looks much better than many of the other KW samples we've seen. I guess it just really varies from batch to batch, and getting a really good one is just the luck of the draw. =/

Guys - how is your power reserve working ? Mine is quite weak - 14 hrs, but maybe I don`t know how to wind it properly.

By the way- crystal is great !

^ 14hrs? Defintely something wrong. I get like 48hrs.

Are you winding it until you feel the resistance?

It`s working quite heavy when I wind it, and I don`t want to break it. Should I wind it until I hear some "click" sound?

Service it. That's the only solution. Since the movement is just 6497 - any watch smith can do it.

Actually not, You should feel small resistant at the end. No "clicky sounds" nothing quite like. If it's new, send it back replace this one with another, contact Your dealer and explain the situation.

Is there a better origin-looking (cashmere-gold) strap available, than the attached strap?
