I saw this thread... and I wondering... DID KW ever come out with a Pam629 ? I don't see one anywhere but I do see the ZF and the SF versions....
Does ANYONE know anything about these watches ?

thanks ALE... when you talk about finish texture.... and colour ... can you please tell more of what you mean ? you mean one is lighter than the other ? one is smoother than the other ?

I don't think it's gonna come to be honest. ZF and SF have both used cali dials with clone 4s before so it was probably an easy one to pump out for them. I reckon KW thinks it's a crowded market for it already so why bother pumping money into it? I'm buying the SF and a KW low distortion crystal that they're using in the 127. Hope it fits!

Doing a build yourself seems the best idea indeed currently.

I was wondering what would be the best base to start with. Are there any reviews out on the ZF version? Can't seem to find any.

SF but it has blue AR. I'm gonna try and fit a KW crystal so wait and see if it works for me. Should have it done in a few weeks.

SF PAM629 arrived today but still waiting on the KW 127/617 crystal. It's a shame SF put blue AR on this crystal. Why would you? I could live with it otherwise since the distortion ain't that bad. I was hoping the DLC was lighter in real life but I've also seen a lot of gen pics where it looks very dark (black) too. So, I get the feeling it's perhaps a touch darker but the gen picks up the light more with a rougher texture under the DLC which makes it look gunmetal grey in some photos. From all the pics and video I've seen online, which is almost all of them, I don't think it really is though. More a dull black than gunmetal until the light hits it correctly. Until someone who has held the gen can correct me.

I really like this watch a lot and the more I look at it, the more I like it. Definitely a keeper, especially when I get rid of the blue AR. Threw it on this strap until I can get something better. Just a shame it arrived with an IWC petit prince pilot. That thing is gorgeous.

Now the wait for the crystal and it's brother, the KW PAM617.
