I was surprised for this very reason when I realized they opted for a fiddy-like crystal, distortion is almost impossible to avoid being the rail track on the outer edge of the dial. Most likely a plexi or a different crystal shape would have solved this issue.
We'll see how the rep will look.

Yes IMO opinion is a true mistake and PANEARI will receive a lot of claims about this matter, because the distortion of the rail track is really ugly

A RG member has realized that L SWISS L inscription on gen is placed above the rail track. This is not like that on reps

I am still undecided - Maybe I love it, maybe its just .........meh.
Sometimes the BEST Panerai are the ones that grow over time. I can imagine this one being a watch that will become much appreciated when seen in the flesh

I doubt that rep makers have gotten the nice gun lead grey satin finish, full of character, of the gen.
Without that the rep will be a bit ruined

Yes this is true, but the finish will not be as uniform as the gen finish. The appearance will be correct enough, but you will have zones with very reduced coating others with few affected coating, concave edges-corners will lose almost all coating and convex corners will keep all the coating.

So in for this rep. How do I find out when other factories have one made? Would like to wait for the KW/V6F/ZF for comparison.
