I just can't fathom a reason they wouldn't use a form of bronze. Its not like this bronze alloy is really any more expensive than brass.

We're talking about reps here, made by Chinese factories. If bronze costs 10 bucks a kilo and the brass $9.80 a kilo, believe me they'd use the brass.

If they cut anymore corners they'd be selling donuts.

Incorrect. Plus the production costs of working with a CuSn8 are higher than the softer brass. No way CuSn8 was used for a 47mm case size with a price point of this rep.

Harder... LOL

YOu think its easier to forge Stainless Steel than 90% copper and some tin???

And I don't believe anything when it comes to reps. I'm just saying... for the few extra pennies of material in a watch case I don't know why they just wouldn't do it.. at least for THIS watch.

Either way - I'm not wearing it. My company quit buying most copper alloys from china years back. They couldn't consistently comply with RoHS for mercury free materials...

We're talking about people that fake eggs and rice to save a few pennies. You think they'd really give the consumer what they want if it ends up eating into their profit margins?

Most likley super rep eggs and rice you came across and didnt see it was fake.

Feels good that my expectations about the 382 is being lowered. Was pretty hyped before.

Will Kuvarsit guarantee that this watch is made from quality Bronze metal? As opposed to Brass, some alloy of brass or some other cheaper material?

Im sure this watch will wind up having metallurgical testing within days of it hitting forum members hands. We will know sooner or later.

The watch looks great to me.

If that concerns you, where do you think most domestic water pipe/valves/fittings comes from ? Walk up to any backflow prevention device and look at where it was made.

CuSn8 bronze is close to 8% tin and the majority of the rest is copper. So is more of a comparison of brass at 50% copper vs. bronze at 90+% copper. It is almost double the amount of copper in CuSn8 versus regular brass.

Okay... Charge me an extra $100 and make it out of material that I (and everyone else) want. They'll figure it out one day;)

Why do i get the sense that there is a ton of push back on the KW model on this thread. I didnt see the same thing on the 382 thread that Angus has going on at RepGeek. I dont get it sometimes. We ask for models, we wait and wait and beg for preliminary pictures. The moment they are released we tear them apart and start criticizing? Am i missing something?
