My thoughts:
No submariner is good OTB. They all have issues. Depends what you can live with.

ARF: very nice quality, fit and finish. Pearl is lovely but DW and cyclops are shit. More importantly the dial and hands lume is toooooo white. Case is too fat. Hand stack is tall, which is correct for Rolex. Very nice hands shape. Overall ARF does feel very premium tho.

Noob: horrendous pearl. Hands are yellow. Date font is nice. Cyclops is cloudy. Case shape is nice. Dial is very nice. Hour makers are spot on. Hands are too low in A28xx.

Vrf LN: cyclops is typical rep quality. Date font is nice. Pearl/insert are nice. Dial is very nice. Hands are ok not as nice as ARF but at least they don’t have ugly white lume or yellow lume like noob. Finish is not as good as ARF but the price is suitably lower.

Look at White ARF hands:

This is just my opinion as a gen and rep collector. I am selling all the above watches, so I like to think I am impartial

Thank you for the detailed review. ARF for me with crystal and DW swap and workhorse 2824 movement. If it craps out I’ll just get a genuine ETA and call it a day. White hands don’t bother me too much nor the fat lugs and crown position.
As you and most other members say, it’s all about picking the flaws you can live with. If you can’t live with any of the ones listed above, get a genuine sub or build a super franken!
