Will get a couple next time.
I genuinely prefer the ARF white dials.
The Noob White Dial looks cheap to my eyes.
Ok, in static pictures and online comparison videos, the noob dial looks great but there’s something off about it in real life under close inspection in good light. I think it just lacks the shine and lustre that you would expect from a watch that commands a £15k price tag. It’s the sort of detail that is hard to spot in pictures. ARF Dial price is also nicer. It just stands out more in real life.
ARF Dial just looks consistent with what Rolex would make, in terms of polish, shine, finishing and print quality.
ARF hands are hour markers are typically cleaner than noob.
Maybe it’s the ARF crystal that makes the ARF Dial pop more. I don’t know.
The noob crystal is decent but I think it’s a touch more cloudy than ARF.
Ok, the Noob is thinner but the difference is negligible unless you’re looking for it and have them side by side.
The working noob chrono is a nice touch but I never use chronos on my gens let alone on hard to fix reps. I like the fact that the ARF large chrono hand can be started and stopped via the buttons, this is enough to show friends for fun (if that is what you like to do).
ARF bracelet feels nicer IMO.
That’s just my personal opinion after handing a LOT of each model.
We have access to a gen next month. Will do a review, time permitting.
It's not just the crystal. You're absolutely right, the ARF is much closer to the gen.
