Well I've just purchased the Deepsea V7 from PureTime and I hope it is as nice as I anticipate it will be. I did look at the superclone model but I figured no matter how close a watch is to the Gen, it will never be exact. So I bought the less expensive one. I know that the finish and feel of the winding mechanism can never be replicated so why pay more? I will post back after I receive it and do a quick write up.

Perhaps you are right sub.
In fact, You can read my first post in this thread and I'm very critic about clone decorated and superclones.

But the thread by Smidsy has introduce a lot of doubts in my mind.
Maybe we are living a new step in replica movements!! The manufacture of replicas has changed a lot in the last times.
It is the first time taht we see anything like this in replica movements

I think we must wait for more information from real owners and more opinions from Smidsy and others like him.

I hope we will have confirmations about the good quality of these new superclones.
It wouldl be a very good new.

I would be gald to see high quality movements in reps for sure as we all would like that. Problem is I don't trust the sellers or the manufactures of these movements or watches. Their out to make money and their not focused on quality, its more of a looks game not a quality game. That said I can appericate Smidsys work but we dont know for sure if the watches he got were supplied knowing who Smidsy was and what he wouls do with it.

Also remember batchs of watches are Not consistant, some are great and some are crap made with rusted worn parts and movements. So just because we see some nice pics of one watch being offered that does Not mean thats what we will end up with. Lets rememebr the rep sellers and manufactures aren't looking for quality, they dont care, what they care about is making money and making the watches they sell look the part and thats what the rep game is about, looking the part.

Well I noticed a BK DSSD in the sale forum, so I bought it. I'll be able to compare both watches side by side, and probably sell the puretime watch. I'll try and post pictures, although with my cell camera.

It would be great to see a comparison, I'll keep my eyes peeled.

What does the BK watch correct?

TM, the bk version has his custom datewheel overlay with improvements in centering and size on certain numbers. He also fully presses the crystal so it sits even with the bezel insert and reduces the chance water will enter the case.

I also recall on any DSSD purchased from him in the last two months he started installing better gaskets to improve water resistance as well.

The biggest thing really is the gen swiss eta movement or sellita movement he provides with his offering.

There are other things like the correct 10 on the insert which is not exclusive to him since other dealers offer this same version.

In all his offering is around $100 bucks more than other dealers ultimate versions, is it worth the extra money.... I guess each person will have a different answer, but to me I think so since he is stateside and one of the best dealers to buy from.
