I fully expect to get flamed for this question, but here goes.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the deepest confirmed Scuba descent is 330m, or 1082ft. (Guess where this is going.....). This is absolutely exceptional, and goes well beyond the range of anything most divers would ever dream of.
The DSSD has a rating of 3900m, 12800ft. That is to say approximately twelve times the world record dive. That is akin to designing a supercar that could exceed 800mph. It's insane!
IMHO, this goes completely beyond any rational marketing ploy. It is of no earthly use to any anyone.
So my question is simple. WHY?
(Hint. There is no prize for the first person to say 'Who cares? They look cool!)
