I bought the white one just to find out if I like the white or black one because I am on the waiting list for the gen. Should get it in the next 8 weeks. Regarding the rep, the watch is too small. I really like the white one, but the case with bezel is not 40 mm, it is only 38.5 mm.
For me, white is the way to go

I hope everything works out. The German ADs are just a PITA, they do not want my money. The watch I am getting comes from Italy.
I am not sure about the size, Rolex says 40 mm, the rep is 38.5 mm and it feels a bid small compare to my gen Sub which is 40.3 mm in diameter.

I asked Ken from chazingtime and he talked to JF. I got following reply:
"JF said that the subdial hands weren't frozen still . They didn't do any mods to keep the hands frozen."
This is strange and I am a little bit confused.

It is my understanding that the gen is also 38.5 mm, it's been advertised as 40 mm but in reality it's 38.47 from 2 to 8 not counting the chrono pushers

Subdials are not frozen. Upper pusher moves counter @9, lower pusher counter @3

Now this watch is great for a nice franken build. Just get a Zenith movement and the old Daytona dial, will try to do it next week.

what is so wrong?

It could work. Aside from crown positioning, the pushers need to line up for the zenith. The pusher angle is different on zenith than the 4130. I hope success for your 16520 project. Keep us posted guru

guru what I think they meant by frozen is that at 12 am the subdials at 3 and 9 will not change. It stays the same. I wore mine for few days and the subdials never changed. Yes they could be changed by pressing on the pushers. But if you leave them they will not move. I and few of the guys here stated that they wore the watch for more than a week and the subdials never changed position. I think this is what they meant by saying it's frozen.

Are you talking about the JF Daytona with 23J movement?

e.g. this one:

JF Daytona 23J is not frozen the sub dial at the first place, if you want to do it, you need to mod

For the love of god people read the thread before asking the same questions!

The new ceramic Daytona, JF 23j same thickness as gen (there's only one) the subdials do not move that I have heard and experienced. Mine does not move and at least 5 other owners I've talked to the subdials have not moved.

You can control/move the subdials with the pushers as mentioned, but the subdials do not move at midnight like the JF 116520 did.
