Hey guys, I have a short question:

Do the new batches of JF Daytonas now have frozen Subdials at 3 and 9 or do the sundials move?

Regards
Max

Is the 23J movement reliable? It also a slower ticking time bomb? Seen a few guys having problems with it after 6-8 months of usage.

I have had 3 and all three 6/7/8 months after they stopped. I know many people who have stopped after this certain period of time. You shake them a little and they then starts again, but for half an hour, a few hours or a few minutes then they will stop again.

What is the problem?

Dirt and totally lacking lubrication. After a service become totally reliable. But it is not easy to find someone who does service on 2813.

Mine after service work perfectly now with a hand smooth in seconds and with frozen subdial mod.

I received two weeks ago a white dial with stainless steel bezel. This HADN'T subdials frozen. They functioned as a calendar, as all previous ones that I have ordered.

Regarding the calendar function, I noticed that the right one has 30 clicks (I assume days) and the left one just 8? Shouldn't be the months?

Just received that one yesterday ... a gift from a really nice guy here.
Looks like a "White Dial" 116520 with a 116500 bezel ... or else ?
I really dont know cause I'm new to Daytonas but I already LOVE it.

I'll wear it as it is for a few weeks cause I already have some mods on the bench, then I will :

1 - find a way to solve the crown problem (cant screw it on the tube)
2 - rework the crownguards a little (will check all the case with gen pics)
3 - redo all the polished and brushed parts (including the caseback)
4 - probably do a sharpie modd on the bezel
5 - service the movement (1.5 hrs PR) following @Harleysta91 posts ... or get it serviced
6 - freeze the long second hand
7 - waterproofing and test
8 - ENJOY

Unfortunately, I have asked my modder to repaint the bezel with platinum paint, I should have left the original color :(

Did you tried to redo it with a silver sharpie ?.. no perfect but really easy
