But would an SW500 movement be a good replacement of an A7750 as ETA7750s are more limited nowadays and then the big question: do you think these movement plates also fit on a SW500 or ETA7750?

Agree thats an obvious tell which when critiquing other aspects of the watch some can sometimes forget/overlook
I always ask, when buying a sec @12 watch to ensure the second hand is moving smoothly and not jerky.. that's one way I guess of ensuring the watch is at least working...
I ask the exact same thing during qc, never fails to ask about movement. Sure cosmetically it's great but without working guts and not asking, you are omitting a vital part of qc.

Exactly, its not something outrageous and if any TD objects to this then I wouldn't deal with that TD..

The Asian movements are temperamental beyond all expectation, really quite shocking in their sloppiness of construction/assembly at points, but the jerky seconds can be fixed--more or less.
I think it was shaidx that named the sec@12 transfer system a "clown show." I always have that phrase in mind when I am working on one. The gears are like clowns hitting one another with plastic hammers and laughing in pain.

It's always a gamble with the rep movements ... Unfortunately nothing as 'problem free watches' especially reps and especially with the new extra plates . You just have to hope and if any problems, get it serviced because along the line they will eventually need servicing. Even if you did get one that the second hand wasn't jittery and moving smoothly unfortunately after a few weeks it could just STOP .... You just have to be prepared for these temperamental movements....

So true. But my skeptical mind still thinks they noticed the jittery hand and since it doesn't show in QC pics, they shipped it anyway. Might have to ask for video of the seconds hand from now on.

Before I place any order for a 7750, I do ask myself if I am willing to send for service/repair. So at least if there is a problem, I am prepared. VAC has repaired 2 so far and probably a third soon.

Order placed. Yes it has flaws, but that forged carbon puts it above the old Noobs for me so I will be happy and deal with it later on... Let the modding begin...
