The combination of thicker hour markers coupled with clearly too small tapisserie squares sticks out like a sore thumb and completely ruins the balance of what a 15400 dial should look like. As much as I like the improvements JF made with other things, this current iteration is a no go for me.

its not a big issue, but if you notice the II of the 12 oclock youll see the theres a small gap at the top while the bottom is stuck. Like I said, im going to accept this but if, in case it looks bad in person I'd like to know if I can fix it myself being a noob

I can see it now, I believe it's such a minor mistake that it'll be hard to tell in person. But I do understand your concern.

That's what really sucks about this. Being too picky cos I just paid 350 bucks or so up front gets on a TD's bad side!! F*** that.

I understand that, you should definitely be able to reject QC's when there clearly are big issues (like the ones you described)

It was more referring to tr0y since I didn't really see anything bad enough to warrant turning down the QC's in his pics

I am going to be using a guru xtal. Will try fitting tonight and let you all know how it works out.

Nice one bud [emoji106].

I switched a guru one into my RG TF , the difference was like night and day. Looking forward to your findings!

Encountered some issues detaching the bezel, it doesn't come off like TF. Will continue work tomorrow.

Those pesky inner-bezel screws!

Yes, TF bezel slides right off after detaching back plate, but not this JF. Maybe it's getting late and I am not thinking straight.

Completely agree. Wanted to order the white version to go along with my blue dial TF, but the smaller squares kill it for me.

Small squares are more obvious on the white than black dial. Sigh...

Cant deny that im disappointed after waiting till now...

V2 perhaps.

Heh, I bought a 16600 so I have a new watch to tide me over, while I decide whether this is worth getting or not.

Lots of wonky markers and alignment in general here, that's par for the course when it comes to first releases it seems. Maybe batch two of the same version will have the kinks ironed out..

It still looks very good, and most non-printed alignment issues can be sorted by a watch-smith here anyway. I absolutely love the look of the movement deco on these though, very well done imo

Question to JF owners!!

Is there any sunburst effect from the tapisserie on these dials? QC pics don't show any, but I'd rather hear first-hand from you guys

JF on the left, TF on the right

Clearly there are issues with both TF and JF 15400's.
The very few QC pics posted of the new JF show some minor misalignment of hour markers and AP logo.
These small issues are correctabnle for both JF and TF.
What is not correctable is the dial tapestry of the new JF. On the Silver dial it seems to really alter the "look". Many members have stated it doesnt look too bad on the black dial, but after seeing these comparison pics Chewey, the smaller tapestry on the black dial also stands out like a sore thumb, at least to my eyes. It alters the overall feel of the watch. If this was on my wrist, everytime I looked at the watch I would be reminded of this giant flaw.
I would agree the bezel screws are nicer on the JF. Nicely seated bezel screws are possible on TF by being selective during QC process and explaining this criteria to your TD before they send QC pics.
Again, members have to decide what flaws they can live with an dwhat they cant...while keeping in mind what is a correctable flaw and what isnt.

Lets all hope that the new JF 15400 will cause all factories to up their game and make improvements. JF to fix dial and alignments , TF to address the bezel screws, AP logo, alignments and update the movement to the new deco plates.
Healthy competition is good for all of us.

Just ordered a black and a white. Not too concerned about the JF dial since I will not use it in the final build.
