Moronic thread of 2017! A+ to OP for getting people to answer your Dumbass questions. Tell the seller to put a new battery in it and include his/her fingernail clippings!

If you cannot identify that you received help from numerous members on here then I think you actually don't really want the help you have been so patiently offered?

Further - I have tried to guide you by posting EVERYTHING you need to know to get started. A "thank you" would have been nice, but you didn't even read that.

This hobby isn't going to work out for you unless you start taking note of what is being advised. It's there to help you.

Thank you everyone for the help. I bought it

Just my two centavos, but what gets to me is the OP's consistent question about "tells".

So, OP, go to the mall. Ask 100 people whether your 111 rep is gen or not. In particular, ask whether the rubber strap is a good replica of the gen.

Share their replies with us.

The v2.5 was a terrible version of the PAM 111. It has a poor crownguard, reverse gearing and the swing amplitude modulation is horrific. Run...don't walk...away from that watch.
OP Didn't listen ...

Okay, if I'm not reading too much into your posts, then let me read something that's perfectly clear. Posting QC pics just for everyone to come and comment on what's wrong with them is strictly prohibited. But then you wouldn't know that because you don't spend the time to read. I'm all for helping out the new members but only if they are willing to do some leg work and help themselves first.

All of the information you need to sort out what your local dealer is selling you is in this section. No more QC pictures. Not even if the hands are nicely manicured.
OP Didn't listen...

He was serious... either take the time to read and learn or get scammed. The choice is yours. But no ones going to spoon feed you what has been posted on the board a thousand times.
And if you can't wait two weeks... then reps aren't for you.

OP Still bought the watch...

First you ask if Rep or Gen than ask whats wrong with it... surprised to actually read some guys are really trying to help you.

Guys were great! Very patient... Answered all questions helpfully...even @Tucker

Where did I receive help?

Seems the only one who refused to see the help was the OP who was hell-bent on buying the over priced PAM.

Thank you everyone for the help. I bought it

...and there it is...came on to ask for advice, followed none of it...wonder if we'll ever see the OP again?

Did the OP eventually get the answer he wanted?

No, he didn't get the answer he wanted.
It seems none of us thought it was a good idea to buy this watch ....but he bought it anyway.

I loves the ones who turn up, do no research of their own and then ask the same question over and over until someone gives the answer they wanted to hear and ignores the other 100 people telling him not to do it.

Are you in Phoenix? If so, I bought a 111 from the same guy. Bought it for a friend who didn't want to order from China or wait for something to pop up in m2m. You can definitely do better for $300. Panerai lettering on the dial is off compared to my 318 and it felt lighter than mine, but my friend didn't care and he likes it.

Good question, Col. Admittedly I did not specifically respond to his questions.

"Is this a rep? Yes, it is.

"Is it safe to buy?" Yes, it will probably not cause physical or emotional harm to you and your loved ones.

"Is it worth $300?" No.

"Is it a good rep?" No.

"What would be better about a TD rep?" RWI support, for one.

"Is there any obvious tells that this is a rep that you can point out?" Not the point, but see my previous post RE: "tells."

"Is there anything wrong with the watch you can spot from the pics?" Wrong in what way? It's a rep.

"...is there anything besides the movement that looks off? Specifically on the dial/case" Yes.

This is only the thread's first page.

Maybe if I have spent several years studying fake watches as a passion like the rest of you I would have been educated enough to not ask these dumbass questions. Please pardon my ignorance. You all sound like a lot of fun in real life. Cheers.

I have to take some responsibility for the new thread as I too asked him to post a picture of the watch once he had bought it. Hopefully the op is enjoying his new watch sitting in the sun drinking a cool beer

how difficult would it be to spot differences if I'm closely examining the watch and the picture side by side? Yes I am new to rep watches which is why I'm here seeking advice but I mostly have just been getting a ton of criticism.

Pls point me to the dealer that has the best rep for a PAM 111 then.

Also no ones explained to me why the rep in the photos is not a good rep...

None of the above matters - it's you who'll be wearing the watch - 99.9% of people won't even notice your watch, so the only opinion that counts is yours, and if you can't see the difference between this watch, a good rep, and the genuine article then it doesn't make sense to spend more money on something you won't be able to appreciate.
