Hi Guys,

Just needed some expert advice from the experts here :) .. i've just received my Ingenieur Laureus Sport from a TD here. As i was inspecting it i detected that it was clinking as i shook the watch (seemed like something is loose on the inside). Is this a big problem ? :(

Thanks and appreciate your advices

Today I received my watch from VAC who did some nice mods..
the strap remains my only issue and I'm afraid I'll have to go OEM to find the best one...
here's one..

but it's quite expensive...

I'm trying to make my current reps as close to 1:1 as possible..that's why I ordered one from VAC , that's why I'm searching for a gen strap...but...400$?????

Yes it's big enough problem that you need to get it opend up and check. Most likely a movement holder tab came loose. Happens all the time over the flight over but its extremely easy fix as long as it's not stuck in somewhere hard to take out. So don't shake it around too much.

Hi Thanks Kutio ,

Sorry another newbie question : May i know how to remove the caseback of the IWC to screw back the loosened part ? (any special tools needed)

or would you advise to pass it to a watch repairer to fit it back ?

Thank you

I had the same clicking noise on mine, opened it and saw that there is a big large metallic part inside it (I think it's used to hold the movement in place in the GEN). This part has no other function and is big enough not to make any issue in the watch... (you can see the part on puretime pictures of the watch, it's the part that goes with the caseback).
I tried to put it back in place and I have the feeling that it's quite now...

That ring sits inside the caseback and does indeed hold the movement in place. If you take off the caseback you can remove the movement and dial without undoing any screws.

So have we concluded which factory has the better version?

yup, after opening the case back, it seems the rotor inside is loosely fitted - hence causing the clinking sound.

Any bros know how should i rectify this problem ?

Thank you

in the dead center is a screw.
that's the rotor screw.
that's what would need tightening.
