I'll just add one last post - I found this video while looking at different PAMs. :)

It is a 'Q' series (either 2014 or 2015). It gives a good opportunity to compare your KW 312 rep as the guy in the video does a good job of showing it from all angles. :winking:

If you want the color to be spot on buy the gen. Otherwise this is literally beating a dead horse.

No matter what the dial looks like the movement is going to give it away. You think if the dial looks spot on when someone gets that close they're not going to want to take a look at the watch itself? They will most likely ask you to take it off and look. By then you'll be put in the position you'll have to refuse, making it awkward right? So what's the point trying to pass off a rep as a gen?

You wear the rep because you love the watch. If you can't love the watch because the dial color is just a little bit off or are afraid of getting called out for wearing a rep you probably shouldn't be wearing a rep to begin with.

Even with gen items every piece is different because they contain individual components and the paint/color may be different shades. For instance, I know for a fact that BMW and Porsche mix each batch of paint for their cars on an individual basis. I know this because when I had to go repaint the bumper for my M3 in space gray and likewise for my Cobalt Blue 996tt, I had to get them paint matched. I did them both at their respective dealers and both paint guys said the factory mix each batch of paint individually for them and he had to paint sample and match each bumper.

Btw, by no means am I trying to come across mean condescending. I'm simply trying to say that whatever your situation is, if you are that worried about someone calling you out for wearing a rep, then don't wear a rep. You'll save yourself a lot of worrying that way. Or find a super rep like the 005.

Isn't the whole point of this forum's existence is to discuss and critique rep watches?
If we can't critique any of the rep products here then most of the rep watch reviews are "beating a dead horse."
I think it's fair for buyers to have an expectation on the product they purchase whether it's a rep watch or not. Just because it's only one percent cost of the gen doesn't mean we can't say a bad thing about it because these watches are not a gen and are mass produced in Guangzhou for a fraction of the price.
Also, some people on this forum are picky with color accuracy of their rep watches, so it's fair game to point it out to one another. By doing this they can select another rep watch with flaws that they think they can live with.

No way ALE.

Rep looks brownis all the time, never white. Gen looks brownish some times (under some special lightning conditions) but never milk coffee brown like rep.

Rep colour is way off.

Can't agree more Pamister.
The kw fonts are always brown all the time!
We seriously need someone to take pictures of the gen and rep side by side to prove we are right.

I have few questions dragonman:

Why are we asking better reps then? Why canal street level is not enough? Why people are doing side by side comparisons with the gen? Why are we worried if bezel ring does not make s-shaped reflection when light hits it? Why to do case comparisons and say that lug holes are few micrometers off? Why worry if text is bit too thick or thin.....etc, etc. And finally; if we have those and countless more minor worries WHY SHOULD WE NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT WRONG FONT COLOUR?

Sorry but, your statemet just doesn't make sence.

My answer is I don't. If you worry about it then by all means go ahead. I'm not telling you you can't. But from my standpoint if you have a highly accurate rep be happy with it. Even gens come with small mistakes. Just enjoy it in good health.

On the way to get to the point of it being a highly accurate rep then these questions are entirely relevant. Once you get to that part then it's not necessary in my opinion. Even gen pams have small variations between each batch.

If you don't want reps to be better or more accurate to gen it's your own matter but please, don't tell others that they should not. I want and I think that +99% of members wants too.

How come it's fair game to critique other makers' inaccuracies but once we mentioned v6f/kw we are gagged from saying anything? I am certain many members do find this post about color inaccuracy very helpful in their potential purchase of this watch. Also, the term "highly accurate rep" could sometimes be subjective. You might think the KW 312 is a very accurate watch but we don't see it that way since you can spot it from a mile away that the font is incredibly brown. This is why we state all the fact and let the end-consumer decide whether it is an acceptable flaw. Moreover, RWI should not play favoritism towards a specific maker and attempt to censor or shut down a thread when there are criticisms towards the products of a specific maker. RWI should continue to allow freedom of speech and respect members' opinions and criticism towards to products sold by any makers regardless it is noob, v6f/kw, h-factory...etc.

Hold on.
You are entitled to your opinion, as any other member is.
RWI, nor any of the staff members, did try to censor or limit your freedom of speech.
I have never seen a thread or a post deleted on RWI, I am sure if you are a member elsewhere you know no other forum is so transparent. This thread is here to attest it.

Implying the forum supports a specific maker is just ridiculous, there are members here that spend most of their free time reading, posting, discussing and evaluating each and every rep that's released. How do you think you can steer everyone's opinion towards one or the other maker? Your out of the choir opinion is clearly spoken here and you are allowed to do so because, as I said, no one wants to limit freedom of speech and opinion.
Now, you have your opinion, I have mine, dragonman4 has his own, and we're all entitled to post it here as long as there are no personal offenses involved.
Please use your words wisely in the future.

Critical reading is very important...

If you had read closely you would have seen I stated from my standpoint, and earlier in another post, I implicitly said that I am not saying you can't be critical of a manufacturer if you want/choose to. Each person is entitled to their opinion. I opine it's not necessary once you have a good rep just like you opine it's absolutely necessary regardless of the fact. You are certainly free to want/opine whatever you choose.

Let me ask you, based upon your theory then, are you just going to not buy any reps until they end up being spot on to gen? What if, lets say V6F/KW/JF/Noob/whatever manufacturer doesn't get it right until version 20 and they're only at version 7? Are you just going to wait forever hoping they are going to get it right? What is your cutoff in terms of when you decide the rep is good enough that you will buy? Progress in terms of getting as accurate as possible is certainly a good thing, I don't deny that in any way, but at what point do you say, "Ok, this is a damn good rep. I'll take one now."?

Don't forget just like any business the factories are going to continue to improve their service/product since that is what is driving their revenue. It's certainly a good thing to help them by pointing out flaws, but if ALE and others said their batch was perfect yet some others, you included, are saying it's not, it was probably a variance of color in the batch you guys received. In your case, personally, if you are that bothered by it, I would suggest selling yours and buying another one and making sure that batch came out correct via the QC pics. I'll buy yours off you mate, since I'm not that focused on the details of the watch and I really love the style. Either way though, this hobby is meant to be enjoyed, so enjoy in good health brother. I'm just trying to tell you that you should relax a bit. :p

I don't know if you were referring to my post, but if you were, all I can say again is critical reading skills are important. If you were referring to me, read my above reply, as this also applies to you.

wish I found this before purchasing my KW PAM 320. Was about to buy the KW 351 but see the same issues exist. As mentioned, the colour of the font is WAY too brown. The minute hand is also WAY too short. It's quite obvious from a distance the watch is a rep which is a shame as I dont believe the earlier ones had this problem.

Like others have stated it seems they have used the same brown as the other models where it is suitable.

I have a Gen PAM 329 and the difference is obvious from a couple of metre's away. I appreciate these are reps, but its just a shame as they got so many things right - small things like inscriptions and the case is just fantastic (I can barely tell it apart from gen), but then left glaring issues with the face. Such a shame as otherwise make this an incredible watch. Longer minute hand, cream writing instead of brown and I would quite happily wear this every day.
