I thought this was an interesting video, I know it's not the same type of pantograph, but it uses the same principle.

joined the engraving club with a new hermes IM2, so a lot to learn 😅
i am currently looking for fonts and i have one question: since the fonts used by Rolex are mixed from different font sets which are not easy to find and also expensive to buy several sets, why not creating 3d models for the font plates? same as tghe skilled @dpd3672 did with the tudor caseback.
i am not sure i can do that but isnt it worth a try?

I tried using a 3D printed one from my homie @369mafia but plastic really isn't great for the template. I found someone who makes brass templates, but it is pricey. Easier to just take your time and find the correct font sets.

Ive been following this for a while, without an account until now, thought id get involved.
Have you found any actually matching font sets yet? Condensed and regular block are somewhat close, well atleast some of the numbers (2,4,8 / Typeface B) but going into details theres just too much thats off with pretty much every letter. 9/6 probably beeing the most obvious (with both typeface A and B).

Do you mind me asking how much you were quoted for the custom set?

Love the thread btw, thank you for all of this!

Sorry to butt in here, but could someone with a set of letters not replicate a set on to brass plate?

Throwing this out there if you are inclined....3d print a set, do a mold and lost casting in brass there is your brass set. probably a little extra work

there is also 3d printing in brass.
