Hi Folks,

I have a VSF 126610 LV with a very bad hytrel ring and gasket. I could remove my bezel just rotating or even worst with my own hand. I talked with several people and they said they couldnt' find a solution for this.

Solution I had:

I took the original Hytrel ring and wrap with dental floss (no flavor, nylon version). I put back in the place and voala. When I clicked back it was perfect.

I twisted, and it was a little tough, so I removed a bit of the wrapping area.

Now the watch is perfect.

Can you describe how you wrapped it with dental floss?

Yes, please describe....and a picture would be even better if not too much of a hassle.

Hey, I would like to take the pictures, but it’s already lock back in the case and I cannot remove easily. I will try to explain.

i took the hytrel ring out of the bezel and cut a peace of dental floss. I start rolling the hytrel ring inside out, when I finish I just cut the remaining part of the dental floss.

after I just placed back in the bezel, it felt actually way better because it was very tight.

to finish, just plug the bezel back. It shouldn’t leave anymore. In my case it was a little lose again so I removed the hytrel ring and changed to a longer dental floss part. So I could give more rounds and make it more tight.

It’s perfect for long time already !

Thanks for the additional description. I think I understand now. Was the floss you used the flat type (ie more tape like) or the thin round type (ie more string like)?

Thank you! It says for 116610 would it be the same size gasket for the 126610?

i ordered these last week along with another one in a blistered pack from another seller. This one https://www.ebay.com/itm/293590263482 here. I’m waiting for both to arrive now to try out.

Both sellers have listings for the 126xxx as well as the 116xxx. I hope one of these works although I’m pretty sure one will.

when I tried winding a flat dental tape around a hytrel, it was next to impossible because as I wound it, the tape behind quickly became unwound. I gave up. Perhaps the Curaprox works better than what I tried to use.

This one that I referenced and posted the link for (the single one in a blister) came in today and it worked perfectly. My bezel was back together in seconds. This was for a 116610.

YOu should use the curaprox as it grips along the hytrel

Any method to make it expand? I noticed vsf uses a thicker hytrel ring than usual or even gen. The rest are too slim and which is why bezel will be loose or has vertical movement

This works like magic! Thanks
My bezel came off today when I was rotating it. When I put it back, it was too loose that when I rotate couple rounds, it just pop out.
I squeezed dental floss into bezel groove before puting the hytrel and now the bezel sits even better than before.

I just wanted to follow up on this thread. I broke the Hytrel bezel retaining ring on my VSF 126610LN while trying to reseat the bezel. I ordered the replacement suggested here by nofitstate (ebay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/164850787612?hash=item2661df651c:g:o6IAAOSwX9tgkoGQ) and was able to refit the bezel.

Some helpful tips if someone decides to go down the same route: These replacement hytrel rings are for the 116610 bezel and appear to be slightly too small for the 126610. If you try to press the bezel on without any kind of modification to the Hytrel ring, it's very easy to end up bending the replacement ring because they are slightly too small. I was able to make it work by ever so slightly stretching the ring by hand so that it was around 3-4% larger in circumference, and then it was the right size. After pressing into place the bezel stayed on securely and turned nicely. If you stretch the rings too much I found you could shrink them a bit by placing them in boiling water for around 30 seconds. Order more than one because you'll probably destroy the first one or two.

The Ebay seller seem to have updated their listings. I could find this article from the same seller, https://www.ebay.com/itm/161620824457 , which I have ordered.
Is it the same item that you purchased?

For a point of reference, I used the eBay link for the 5 pack to fix a 126619 VSF that the bezel had popped off of. The bezel rotates smoothly, although it does have some noticeable play up and down. It doesn't appear to come off easily, I can't just pull it off with my hands, and no amount of rotating has made it pop off, so I'll take that trade off of a little play.

I did a bit of searching on the gen Rolex forums and it seems even the gen has some vertical play. How much I'm not sure, as they never mention any figures, but they do all say it is perfectly normal.

Mine using the eBay rings has about 0.1mm.
