How to tell a recessed pin?

Does anyone have a picture or description of a recessed canon pin?

I would really like to see or know more about how to tell if a watch that I have ordered has the canon pin fix.

From my understanding, a recessed canon pin, has the hour and minute hands high above the dial... is this correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If i am correct, how close (visually) should the hands be relative to the dial?

Thank You!

Horologie,

Thank you very much for the picture. but what do you mean by "3-4 mm deep"?

From looking at your pictures, the hands should be extremely close to the face of the watch.

thanks

Horologie,

It looks like it is "almost" touching the dial/face. Now I see how it should be and what to expect when I get my first Panerai with the conon pin fix...

I will definitely post pictures of it once it arrives and maybe you can review them!

Thank you so much for taking time out to post these pictures. They really say a thousand words!

I appreciate it!

Big L

Personally I dont think you tell unless you inspect the watch. The watch you PMed me about has a recessed pin. Still looks darn good. I think the pin is tell tell sign of a rep if I am not mistaken. But I mean come on man, how many gen PAMs have you seen? How many people would know a that mine was a rep? Beside the freaks from here that is.

come on guys...... you knew this was coming, and don't forget to wear one on each wrist because it's BUSINESS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah? Well I know Muai Tai, Brazillian Ju Jitzu, and a little thing I like to call "i nailed your mom". I'm so bad ass, there isn't one little kid in any of my karate classes that even wants to spar with me cause i UNLEASH THE FURY! Yeah I've got a small penis and nobody likes me, but I drive a porsche worth more than your LIFE so f**k you! Like the other day, I was walking down the street and this little old lady told me she liked my watch, so I said, "What f**k you! It's not fake!" So I went into karate mode and SCISSOR KICKED HER IN THE FACE! *WHAM BAM* Then I pulled her up by her hair but her wig came off, turns out she was bald! *GROSS* f**k**g old people. Then I picked her up by the ears and kneed her in the face muai tai style! *BLADOW* And I was like "That's what you get for walking so slow b**ch! AND THERE'S NO WAY YOU COULD KNOW MY WATCH IS FAKE, CAUSE IT'S NOT, IT'S A MODDED MBW SUPER DUPER ULTIMATE SUB, AND IT'S REAL! REAL I SAY! IT USES THE SAME MOVEMENT MOST REAL WATCHES DO ANYWAY, IT'S SWISS ETA, IT'S A DIVISION OF SWATCH, PLUS I BOUGHT IT FOR A GOOD VALUE, NOT CAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD A REAL ONE CAUSE I SPENT ALL MY MONEY ON KARATE CLASSES, SO f**k YOU! OH, AND I DRIVE A PORSCHE WORTH MORE THAN YOUR GRANDCHILDREN!" *KAZAAM* Yeah, I showed her what's what. That's the last time she'll be calling me out on my watch. But I gtg, I'm late for yoga class WHERE I PICK UP CHICKS LIKE YOUR MOM! AMERICA!!! f**k YEAH!!!

Hey Big L I think you're confused with what the recessed pin it has nothing to do with the hands being close to the dial. It has to do with the middle pin being flush with the hands. On most PAM reps that pin is below the hands hence recessed pin.

@HK hell yeah its business time.

This is exactly what I am talking about. If you've got to examine it that hard then it's not worth worrying about. Did you PAY for a Canon Pin fix?

it's not the hands being to close or too far from the dial. the dial is thick so the cannon pin doesn't stick through the dial far enough. when they install the hands they can't fit the pin flush with the top of the minute hand because the pin is too short. the fix is to install a longer cannon pin.

hope this helps,

hk

Ok. Well I hope the explanations had cleared it up for you.

And don't take offense but I have to ask. Why would you pay for a Canon pin fix when you didn't even know what it was supposed to be?

Because it was an option offered on the website... it also comes with superlum. Im assuming that if I dont pick the option, i will get a recessed canon pin. am I wrong to assume?

thanks

I am so sorry... it must be frustrating to explain to me since i dont know shit about his. So w/o the canon pin fix, the hour and minute hands are close together?

thanks
