Stupid question.
Isnt it better than to buy a battery Rolex instead wasting a lot of money for fake eta not running accurately?
Are there high quality battery Rolex with sapphire glas?
I want to buy it in Thailand and not TD
Well, "better" is relative - if you mean in absolute terms of accurate time keeping, then yes - for everything else, no.
Even those who couldn't tell a mechanical watch from a quartz watch from a sundial seem to maintain that the second hand sweep of a mechanical movement is a "signature" of a Rolex. While this we all know this is incorrect, it's a signature of all mechanical time pieces, it serves to say that a quartz Rolex will scream "fake" from a mile away - even to those who otherwise wouldn't have the first clue where to start looking.
The Asian clone movements are perfectly serviceable, but if you're really dead set on a genuine ETA movement, plenty of TDs offer them as well (or you could buy one from Ofrei and install it yourself). You're taking arguably a bigger risk buying from a local market, and the chances are
very slim that you'll get anything close to a genuine ETA anyway, even if that's what you're told.
There are higher quality Rolex reps with sapphire crystals, most high end reps come standard with them. Again, plenty available from the TDs, why the reluctance to shop at the one place where the products are basically guaranteed to be exactly what you paid for?
edit: For $120, you're most likely looking at 21J reps. The ETA movement alone costs more than that. You could always look into vintage pieces where 6 bpm is more realistic to the gen though (I think, by no means an expert on rolles).
