Gio describes this briefly after completing the CG project:
You don't need to remove the bezel to change the insert. Using a small knife blade, pry off the pearl on your current insert. Then wedge a small knife blade or very small screwdriver into the hole left where the pearl used to be and pry the insert out. They are usually not very well attached from the factory and will typically come out with little effort.
Buy a quality insert that already has a nice pearl attached and you won't have to insert a new one.

What a great tutorial, I just received my blue ceramic sub and the insert sits really high. Has anyone succeeded in taking the ceramics out? Can they be sanded or ground with a diamond stone?

Aperantly it is near impossible to remove the ceramic bezel inserts intact. Ceramic being so fragile usualy breaks.

To take the stem out does the case back have to be off? Can you direct me thru taking it off? Thanks

Gio,

Kudos for this! Many, many thanks. Even though it's one of (y)our passions, thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience!

Gave me enough confidence to mod my Noobmariner!

Awesome Post

Thanks for this awesome post. I've been interested in getting a rep for a long time but wanted it to be a too more so than a piece of jewelry. Further I really enjoy tinkering with things so this is right up my alley.

Thanks again
