^^^ Thanks James. I thought you meant links to "just" crown guards for some reason - I'm looking at those watches now.....

1...... Is my 312 a 44mm then ? I assume I can't buy a 47mm case ?
2...... And will there be any differences in crown guard of a 21J $100 rep as opposed to my 7750 $300 rep ??
3....... Do only the 1950 cases say "REG TM" on CG ?
4....... When I was told by TD to buy a new case, does that mean dial, hands, movement, and strap ???
5....... How much would a gen one cost?
Thinking about that.... Because then mine would be rounded/flat/curved/sharp/pointed (insert adjective) - that everyone complains about separates the rep guards from gen guards. I'm still not exactly sure what the differences are.... Thanks

In a Causal Loop
[/B][/U]This is becoming a nightmare. JacksonTSE has not responded to me yet either.....

Give him some time. I bought parts from him some time back when I was building some watches. IIRC, he can be a little slow to replay. Also, Frigpig mentioned in his post that he had one.

Frig's is for 47mm case so I'm told it will not work.
Nothing yet from Jackson

Keep in mind that I am not a Pam expert like ALE, but just an avid collector trying to be helpful.

1. I believe your watch is 44mm. I might have accidentially included some 47mm links, but it gives you an idea of what's available.

2. I believe the cg would be the same regardless of the movement, but perhaps some Pam experts could chime in on that.

3. Don't know. When I was searching I was simply looking for the end shape of the lever and markings, but I believe the answer is "No" as I saw some of the divers with the markings.

4. Probably just the case

5. Probably as much as your rep if not more.

The screws were loose, became disengaged, dropped to the ground, as did the CG since it was no longer secured to the case by the screws.

How is the dealer responsible for an owner's inattention to the fasteners/screws?

If your wheel comes off your car because you didn't tighten the lug nuts, does Mercedes Benz owe you a new tire and wheel?
Bad example if you are trying to back up your point mate. Are you telling me that MB would not be responsible if a wheel came off your Benz a few days into ownership? Somehow I think they would end up owing you a lot more than just a tire and a wheel.

Watcheden ARE trusted dealers, they are simply on probation right now while we work with them to solve a few problems.

Right now I would not try to get anything off Getat, he was featured in an Esquire article and is being run off his feet.

Jackson doesn't have one?

Thank for the clarification TB. I wasn't sure about WE as I didn't see them on the TD list now. Based I my last experience with WE I personally will not be placing any more orders with them unless I start seeing some positive comments.

UPdate yet again:
I want to order (and going to) - the Jackson one.
But, I have PMed him here and emailed him on his website asking him to get in touch with me.
Reason being is I don't want the damn thing snail air mailed from China.
I would much rather pay $35-$50 more for Priority International....

Secondly, for heck of it I called a Panerai Distributor. I informed them of the problem, said I was out of warranty, and asked what I needed to do in order to get new crown guard. I was very specific about what I needed, telling them the exact prob and what was missing.

They said there is no way around it - the watch needed to be shipped to a Long Island facility where THEY will tell ME exactly what I need - like I don't already know....!?!?
They would then check on availability of parts, provide cost estimate, and if parts could not be sourced, attempt to get from Italy directly. If parts are not available from Italy, the watch is essentially useless.... So all that waiting & shipping, no guarantee on it being able to be fixed/replaced, and not without seeing the watch first....!!!

:frusty: .............. :lolcina: ................ :asshat:

lol a little humor for the situation

The CG is indeed brushed.

You can "brush" any polished part with scotch brite. You can polish any part with some elbow grease and some AutoSol. ;)

GOOD NEWS:
Jackson is shipping one to me....
Should be about the same quality as on the rep originally, no ?

Will be loc-tited on after waterproofing service!

Please PM me and update this thread when you do. If the Jackson fits the new 44mm cases of the 312s ect that would be very important information for this community. ;)
