How on Earth do you Communicate with TD on Panerai specific issue ??

Well guys,
I may never fully get to experience my Panerai "love affair."
The 312 is the model I only really truly like, and I bought one from TD here that I have only worn for 1.5 days, doing basically nothing either (no strenuous activity.)

The crown guard completely fell off, and is missing.
But, things are not perfect and life goes on... You just source another, correct?
WRONG.
How many of you would wear a Panerai rep that was completely MISSING a crown guard and has indentions for one? Good lol - me neither !!

So, I have been attempting to source a new crown guard.
Checked with virtually ALL modders here, checked Ebay (was told most wouldn't fit), posted "WANT" ad both on here as well as RepGeek, checked with nearly ALL trusted dealers on this site, searched for a character named Jimmy Fu.... NO LUCK !!!! NO one appears to be able to source one, period!!

The TD I bought it from has been/and still currently is (and I give them credit) - trying to source one.... See, I have a pending order with them. I have OKed the QC photos, but told them wait to ship, until their repairs department gets my crown guard from factory. They DID IN FACT agree to replace it, which is the good news. They also won't need to pay any shipping costs as they throw it in the box with the pending order (obviously.) I just want a crown guard from somewhere!!!
Now, in multiple messages to them I described exactly what I need for Pam312 - crown guard and corresponding screws. I even sent multiple photos of JUST crown guards (removed from watch)!!! They told me they are unable to view my attachments... WTF ??

They did send me QC photos of the screws, but no crown guard. Growing pretty frustrated here so will likely just be sending the Pam back for a refund, and cancelling my current order with them (a strap for the watch.)
FYI: for reference point, this has been going on for maybe ~10-12 days or so. If the damn crown guards fall off so often, they shouldn't be that hard to source....

Any ideas?
Thanks

Look like your on the right path. Just relax a bit, this will all be worked out. Please also keep in mind that this is your fault not theirs and they are helping you.

I have been told in the past that the Jackson crown guard works in a pinch and has the same reg tm engravings if your really stuck. Have you looked there?

Nope, Don't know what Jackson is or where to begin to look....
Saw your picture of it in my other thread.
I'm very new to Panerai.... I also can hardly tell a difference between gen + rep crown guards that everybody talks about (curved vs. flat ??)
Anyway thanks for your help....

EDIT:
I kinda do agree with jimrat above....
I was driving for most of the time, literally doing nothing. I guess I just didn't expect it to fall off after 1.5 days of wearing - it's not like this was 3 months later folks. First Pam for me also so was unaware of loose crown guard issue. But now I certainly know for the future. Loc-tite once I get it !!!

Dear friend
Firstly: be calm and patient you are dealing with chinese cheap replicas no with an AD with expensive and guaranteed gens.

-One of the gold rules when you buy a replica is tightening all the screws. A lot of PAms have loose screw
-It is no easy get replica parts
-10-12 days in a repair or parts matter in a replica is nothing
-Chinese TD have no perfect English, there are always misunderstanding. Mainly if you are not precise and mix several problems as you are doing now (read your post)

TD has already tell you that he will get a CG for you. Just wait for it

If you have already QC pics of your new order you have already paid, it will be diffcult to get back the order.

Therefore, wait for the solution of the TD concerning CG and leave your last order like that

The screws were loose, became disengaged, dropped to the ground, as did the CG since it was no longer secured to the case by the screws.

How is the dealer responsible for an owner's inattention to the fasteners/screws?

If your wheel comes off your car because you didn't tighten the lug nuts, does Mercedes Benz owe you a new tire and wheel?

Well, I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation on the buyer's part that his watch will be fully assembled upon arrival. I mean, maybe unreasonable in the rep world, but not everyone knows to tighten their screws as soon as they get a new watch.

It's definitely not all the dealer's fault, as buyers should be more careful knowing that these are reps, but dealers do usually provide some amount of warranty against general rep shittiness on newly purchased watches, and a barely attached CG seems to fall within that.

Jackson is a TD here. Here's a link to his section--------> http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/jacksonmt-new-model-76743

He also has a website here------------> http://www.jacksontse.com/new/index.php

You may have not subjected the watch to "aggressive" movement. However, it was probably tossed, thrown, dropped and who knows what else while it made its voyage from the TD to your house. Always a good idea to check all screws on any watch upon arrival.

Ultimately, I hope this all works out for you.

Well, I was just informed from TD that the factory will NOT provide them the crown guard - even if I was to pay for it....?? They suggested I buy the whole case. Does that mean the $300 watch again, or can I get one without dial, hands, movement, and strap ????

I said it above, I want to make this bold so others do not go through like I did:

Check all the screws, because they may not last 5 MINS ON YOUR WRIST FOLKS!!!!!!!

This is becoming a nightmare. JacksonTSE has not responded to me yet either.....
Like I said, may just return the watch?

Check the m2m parts sales threads here and the other forums. PAM crown guards come up for sale quite often. I know as I have been watching them for the past couple of months looking for dials and and hands.

Yeah, but one for a 312 is gonna be pretty hard to find. His best bet is to source one from a dealer. Shouldn't be impossible.

Will a Guard from 114 fit 312 ? There's a brushed one on Ebay now....
The crown guard is supposed to say "Reg TM" right ?? Because I've seen multiple that have no lettering :frusty:

45acp, the dealer said they can't do anything for me on it. I posted again (last post on first page)

I have a Jackson CG in my shop. Pm me if you want it.

The CG for the 114 is very different from the those found on the fiddy style cases, so it won't work.

Good to know. I had no idea this was an issue. Now I know.

WISE ADVICE: Thighten all the screws of your rep before to wear it.
You will avoid a lot of headaches and nightmares.

Yes I agree!!!! Everyone heed this advice.

Should you not follow through, (depending on what model you have) - your watch will be worthless, so you may as well just throw the entire case away in trash.
If you have something popular like a 005 or 111, however - you will likely be able to source a crown guard, so no worries!

The dealer states the watch cannot be returned for credit because it's now missing a part and not re-sellable. As I posted on bottom of page 1, they will not let me purchase one either. I posted:
"Well, I was just informed from TD that the factory will NOT provide them the crown guard - even if I was to pay for it....?? They suggested I buy the whole case. Does that mean the $300 watch again, or can I get one without dial, hands, movement, and strap ????"

I now have decision whether to:
1. Throw watch and straps I've purchased in trash and forget about the Panerai brand in general....
2. Buy the exact same watch AGAIN (~$300) and still throw my current one away.
3. Post want ads up on every forum (which I've done) and hope in the next 6 months while my watch is collecting dust that I can find another CG to affix & finally begin wearing.
4. Go to an authorized distributor to SEE if they will even sell me one, but the price will likely be about the same as the whole new rep watch (~$300)
What number would you all choose ??
Please comment back with either 1,2,3, or 4...... I need to start a poll !

Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else!!! But shame on me because I should have known - this is entirely my fault. OH WELL, not really that big of a deal and I just love to learn life lessons the hard way lol

Why don't you buy a cheaper 312 or homage and use the cg until you can source a quality cg in the m2m sales. Then you could at least wear your watch until you find a new cg.

I browsed some sites and found that I could find watches with the correct 312 sytle cg from $98 to $208. You could also sell off some of the parts to help reduce the cost.

I was going to post some links, but my Kindle Fire kept resetting the browser when I switched between browsers.
