How many of you 7750 owners use your chrono function?

When I buy a new watch I run the chronos for 24 hours to distribute all the oils and never use them again.

Once. When the watch comes to me to check it works.

Then I never touch the buttons again.

Watches are not playstations.

I don't even use the chronos when I know it's fine like quartz and lemania!

a bit of a noob question here but I want to use the second hand on my Breitling SA, will that count as using the chrono and is running the second hand all the time going to ruin my watch after some time?

Do you mean the small running seconds hand in the sub dial, or the large chrono second hand that starts and stops when you push the button at 2:00?
Because the former is fine. The latter should be left alone.
I will use the chrono on all my watches except the one rep I have with the A7750 movement. I don't touch that one.
Of course, even on my gens I rarely find a need to run the chronos.

Never really have a need to - whether gen or rep. I just like the way they look on the watch.

I only use it if i need it and it doesn't happen very often; but never had problems. I even forgot for many hours the chronos running and again no problems at all.

As many of us I used it once to ensure it works.

I guess I won't use it anymore....

I am running the chronos on all my A7750 once or more every week. Never had an issue.

Let me just start my Montblanc chrono now......
- Start
- Stop between 10 and 2
- Reset
No issue!

No, not necessarily. As long as the bearing is properly jeweled, there wouldn't be any significant wear. Last time I checked they were jeweled just like the ETA 7750 which is a workhorse, the amount of wear would be negligible at best, if run constantly, plus the wear would be on the chronograph module rather than the main watch mechanism.

IMO run it if you want, it shouldn't cause problems.

+1

The only significant risk is that you might look ridiculous. Whenever I see someone running their chrono 24/7 I do ask myself wtf...

That makes two of us, I have never understood the appeal in having the chronos running 24/7.

Seems more interesting to me than just sitting still. I mean, if you don't want to run the chrono, don't but doesn't seem to matter one way or another really.

That's what I thought...

The minute hand on one of my 7750s at the 3olock position resets at 8 instead of 12! Quite frustrating considering the watch is just a few months old and I've played with the chrono maybe 20 times! I won't be doing that with my other ones!

That happens when the chrono hand is not inserted properly into the movement, that's why it "slipped", don't worry, it's a cheap and easy fix, any watchmaker can reset it for you, once he/she sets it properly it should not slip again like it happened and you can play with your chrono as much as you like.

Exactly. Chronos are not to be played with unless you want to spend more money fixing them, or happen to know how to fix things yourself!
