With your luck, hope you played the lottery. Haven't heard too many stories with reps being sent back to China and making it through customs.
China is not on other planet.. China has with EU/US the greatest amount of shipment. You simply need to follow rules for shipping this kind of material. With your luck, hope you played the lottery. Haven't heard too many stories with reps being sent back to China and making it through customs.
That's part of the rules to follow on return / repair.I think we may be comparing rabbits with elephants here.
I’m sure that if you are sending items to Honest Joe in China who is running a legitimate business, the goods will arrive more often than not. However if you are returning to a manufacturer/dealer of illegal goods the scales tip somewhat. It is probably unlikely that the address you are given to return said goods is the actual business premises as it would probably attract too much attention. I suspect, though do not know this to be fact, that there is an alternative route and system for returning to TDs.
Customs is not the only worry here as the watch might have to pass through a number of hands and therein lays the problem. Nobody is going to report an illicit timepiece if it goes missing, so ‘if it loses its way’ en route to a TD no one is going to make a fuss, except perhaps the poor sod who sent it from the other side of the world.
TDs give fairly explicit instruction on how to return items and cover all those caveats that you mention. The fact remains that, here and on other forums, members constantly report that their package has been ‘lost’ despite following all the instructions. That's part of the rules to follow on return / repair.
The shipment was made to a third part destination address not connected with their business, using a trusted and reasonably costly service.
a T.D. (as part of the return discussion method had with him) have a secure destination and i do not really see all this nightmare pictured here in this forum.
Of course if you send a package declaring.. replica watch with a 5/6/7 hundreds $ value. You can blaim just and only urself if doesn't reach destination.
Big outlay ? Really ?
Not really... i'd love you to report me a local wathsmith who repair a replica tourbillon caliber, i'll send an inquiry about his willing to get such repair and at which cost.Stipulate your own repair type and vary the values as much as you like but the algorithm, logic and risk still apply.

I accept that you have been lucky in your transactions and I’m pleased for you but it would be irresponsible not to make clear that there can be another outcome.
If the watch is worth $600 and a local repairer would charge $150, the owner has to weigh the repair charge against the possible loss of the entire watch cost.
900 USD replica is not something anybody would want/expect to be defective...Interesting views here on returns. Having just placed my first order with InTime, I was VERY impressed that the time period from initial order, to QC, to shipment confirmation took only 7 days! My order (Daytona 116506) was not an instock item and had to be requested from the Factory - and still only 7 days! I don't know how long to expect shipping to take, but the tracking information received was much appreciated.
Regarding orders in general, I make the assumption that any orders for a rep have at least a 50% chance of ending up a complete loss, and I place all my orders accepting that risk. By the way, so far 100% of my 8 total rep orders have been delivered.
If I were to get a defective watch that stops working, I *may* look for a watchsmith (good links in these forums!) for repair, but there is a better chance I will accept the loss and move on - my other reps are working fine and the odds are good I can just get another rep of the same watch and it will turn out fine too. One option I would not pursue is mailing a rep back to China - I just don't want to deal with that. I would sooner advise the TD and if they offer a discount on next order, I will just use that discount to buy the same watch from a different factory... or maybe the same factory because it's an odds game anyway.
You have realistic expectations of what this hobby is all about. You will see that the chances of losing a shipment in the US are miniscule. is higher or close to how much cost an "average" genuine automatic watch.

If it would be a 300 USD replica... with a "standard" caliber i would look domestically.
I repeat what said before...
if you know someone who will accept and have capabilities to repair a tourbillon custom caliber... let me/us know.
Most members don't have watches lost in transit.Say it got lost like most members' experience. What would you do?
And most of the time.. they return watch to seller with shitty transport solution and then complain with lost in transit. Most members don't have watches lost in transit.
