Hontwatch Blue Sub C

Just ordered my Blue Sub C from Hont, should be here next week. The QC photos look great!! - I wanted to know some other forum members opinions on his watches, preferably on the Rolex Subs.

Also any idea on the water proofing of these watches

Looks like pretty good, the dial markers are a bit small but no biggie. If you wanna do some nice mods start with the pearl mod, relume, paint the markers on the insert, replace w correct hands and swap new dwo and you are as good as gen or atleast pretty close. Nice watch, I really love mine....

Check your bezel at the 50 time increment, specifically at upper left corner of the 5 .... Looks like it's in more than one of your QC pics .....

Looks like a bit of lint or dust hopefully. Rest looks good.

mod the pearl? besides the fact that its never going to look like gen this pearl is as good as its ever going to look. doing anything to it will just screw it up. I wouldn't touch the bezel numbers either. these newer subc bezels have the perfect whitish grey color to match the Gen platinum. I cringe everytime I see someone paint the numbers with some shiny mettalic paint.

Only thing that bumps me is the hands look like they have green lume instead of blue.

Thanks for your input on the Mods. I thought the pearl looked pretty dang good myself.

As far as the lume on the hands go, I will be sure to update here in regards to that - I sure hope they are blue, otherwise I'll have to get the whole watch relumed so that everything matches.

You're gonna have to do the pearl mod regardless when you replace the rep lume w superluminova. And im sure PB, BK, Jackjo and many others would not complete this mod unless it made a difference, however, you are correct in stating it will never look like gen I just think it will look better than the murky/dull look it has now.

A gen pearl is white not this greyish color, so to me its a must. And if you've ever compared a gen insert to a rep ceramic insert you would see that the color is in no way compareable since the rep has no plat. particles.

And the hands are never gonna match on the rep due to the fact that the thickness of the luminova is much less than on the dial markers, kinda aqua vs blue. Besides if you look close at his dial you will see the luminova pooling on the markers making them look domed vs flat like the gen.

You'll also see a lot of these "angled" shots on the dealer's sites.

They sure don't like showing the date window aligned with the cyclops.

Gee.........wonder why?

Then they get your money and don't send you one with the date and cyclops from dead ahead. When you get it you got whatever they sent, tough shit!
