I've been watching the Panerai sales on RWI and RepGeek and I can't believe how much some people are willing to pay for a rep watch. They seem to be priced all over the board, but in some cases, well over $1000 and in one case, the asking price is $2700, but at least he is paying the shipping! Oh...and there is another for $3600!!! I'm kind of glad I "haven't got it" yet.

Sadly, I couldn't resist. Panesteria. Now I have two, and two homage versions, want more, am buying straps and buckles. I have fallen and I can't get up!

Agreed, some are absolutely ridiculous, there are things going for $500 without even a lume job which I personally think is sacrilegious. Anything above $1000 has to have gen parts in it for me. The only exceptions would be the 111/112/219 because LH has already priced himself in that ballpark and plainly there are no decent rep alternatives. But $3600 for a rep PAM? Where's this, I'd like to see, that's the price of many a gen PAM.

If you're however referencing a vintage Angelus 240 movement 6152, its a different story and price for those and $3k+ is decent, it's all because of the movement.

That as I mentioned above is a different story. Lots of parts made off the shelf, movement itself is very very costly. Can't be compared with the standard reps. Sorry.
