Have you bought a gen PAM after being in the dark side?

I had two gens the 111 and 112 sold both and kept my five noob reps. Gen will always be a gen but honestly couldn't justify the premium difference. I have the same set of reps for the last 4 years and all running strong (touch wood) lol!

Have had 3 gen pams (currently own 2).

The 233 would be my pick of the bunch if they werent so notorious for developing problems. For me a watch doesnt get more beautiful than that. Clean symetrical sandwhich dial, tooth PR (which i think adds to the watch unlike the ugly semi circle one).

I also love the 270 but like many here have said the pams are just that bit too tall in auto (though i still have 1 gen auto ....)

With the new ones. Agree with others. Return of "Automatic" on dial is not to my liking. Blue hand isnt working for me in photos but from what i hear on gen its barely noticable.

Can confirm that blue second hand doesn't stand as much as in official photos. I currently have a gen 1312. Agree about the "Automatic" on the dial though.

I am circling around a gen 187 at 9.500$ it is my all time grail watch…and the price seems to go lower and lower…Anyone think the price will go further down on pams?

My first rep was a Pam111 ages ago, since then, I've owned a gen 111, sold to buy a gen 312 then sold that to buy a 359, eventually sold that to part fund a Ducati and now am the proud owner of a rep dochere modified Pam 111N which is a keeper so gone full circle.

4 gen pams 2 rep pams... bought 2 gen prior to reps... 1 really crappy rep and 1 decent factory rep...

I own gens cuz no rep handles like them.. and they are all gonna be heirlooms... reps are just really to test them for a year or so to see if i would like to own the gen...

Maybe in 5 more years, the rep movement will be stellar.. then it would be awesome

I would grab another gen, and plan on it in the future, but only on the secondary market and without an in house movement. Resale value is going down significantly like someone posted so you can get amazing deals. And with the non-in house movements you can still use a regular watch maker for your services and repairs. Sending to Panerai will cost you almost a grand every 3-5 years for the service which is insane imo given the state of the brand. I would get it if it was a supercomplication or a different brand like ap/patek. I just don't think panerai has mastered their new movements or servicing them yet, and they are the only game in town for it because of the parts. I love the brand, just my 2 pence

I havent handled a gen but I was really impressed with Rep pams after viewing the gens in a boutique.. so I doubt so, perhaps I would buy more obscure gens like Grand Seiko or Nomos

Just bought a new gen Rad 380 after having the rep. Loved it so much I just had to have the real thing.

Still got my Marlin modded KW127 on gen Cashmere strap though.
