The build quality is awesome man! And it holds time very well.

I have held the gen before, and it is slightly heavier, but only just. But this thing is still built very well!

I would take more photos, but I don't think I am allowed to "advertise" my watch for 2 months :p

My only regret is not getting the bracelet version, but that's just personal.

Pretty damn sure that you can post as many as you want if it's in a members interest. You're not currently selling it and just because you have intentions of selling it in the future that shouldn't have any effect.

If you have more to post go for it, I would like to look :)

Are the HD pictures on puretime and Toro not enough? Lol
You forgot the videos also ;)

Nothing wrong with seeing the product from a different point of view and owner. I'm always on the lookout for fresh pics of the watch :)

I understand the most obvious tell is the subdial spacing is slightly closer on the gen. Does anyone which thread declared this one a "super rep"?
Is there a gen vs. rep comparison?
Also, is it just the black dial colour or also the grey that is a suepr rep? I think the white version is disqualified because of the missing "i" in SWISS on the caseback.

I thought subdial spacing was the same because a gen uses a 7750? Unless you are comparing it to a one of the Carrera gens which used a Seiko movement..

There might be a gen vs rep but you might have to dig up an old thread from a few years ago.. and the pictures probably wont be there since old photobucket photos are mostly gone

Seems a lot of threads are getting very old now. Which is why I'm fishing for a few extra pics as albeit the TD's have HD pictures, a lot of them are from 2012..

in your first thread you said they were from 2015, which watch was that?

personally i wouldn't look at older photos from 2012, you wouldn't want to buy a 7750 thats been sitting on a stock shelf for 5 years!

You could use the search function in the m2m sales, that bound to throw up more results, but like i said i think all the old photobucket account are dead.. so chances are slim at best

Depends on the TD, some are from 2012'ish when added to the site (although they may well have been updated since, I'm just going off the post date), some are more recent, such as the $408 clone versions, which are usually advertised as "Best edition" or "Super Replica", these tend to be 2015.

The ulterior motive behind this thread to to see if anyone has purchased recently to see if there have been any changes.

Thanks for the links, I've had a search on the m2m sales, hoping to get a new one from one of the TD to help support the businesses running the show, along with a box with papers to complete the look! It's my first rep and I'm hoping to keep it under wraps it's a rep from most.

If you want to hide it from people, well I wouldn't buy a tag, it's a brand that aways poses the question "is it a fake" and I'm sure you wouldn't feel comfortable lying to your friends, family and colleagues, so probably best get something that isn't so thought of to be fake.. something a bit more undercover and less in your face.

As for what you said about changes, there won't be any.. only if there would be a new rep version made, which there hasn't bern.
but since it not a new or highly popular watch I don't think a new version would be in the pipeline anymore.
It's a few years old and rep makers stick to current models.

Oh and don't talk about box and papers... It's a touchy subject around here. Anyway wouldn't waste your money on a rep box, they are made very poor in comparison to a gen tag box. Waste of about £70!

I'll be honest, where I live I've only ever come across 1 person who has a tag watch..

At first I was looking for a u-boat Classico but it seems like u-boat isn't a common brand that is repped.

Yeah I've realised that it seems the makers stick to their original release until there's something new on the gen. Me being very new to this thought there'd be a decent flow of updated/upgraded reps to perfect the reps further.

I think that the 1887 43 MM version is pretty good, and not easy to tell. I think that wearing an AP is more to be a watch that people says ‘it’s fake’.

Yes it's pretty good, but that's not my point.

Not so much on this side of the planet.. not many people even heard of AP or even a Patek where I'm from lol

The 3 big names in the UK are Rolex omega and tag, and tags are so well known for being faked since you get them everywhere on cheap holidays around europe, it's the "go to fake"

I'm talking from experience as a seller of both rep, and gens I sold tags by the dozens as a teenager at an AD.

So my point is, the OP will get asked that often. And he will probably feel uncomfortable if he has to lie about it. Anyway, it's always more of a talking point when you say it's fake.. they wanna know about it and it's a conversation starter.

I'd 100% agree if I was getting a Rolex, but with the box and papers with a tag that's excellently made to a degree where you'd need an actual watchsmith or tag dealer to tell it's anything different from a gen I'm pretty confident nobody would be the wiser.

You're right that tag is common in the fake world, I was in turkey 2 weeks ago which is the reason I'm on this site now. I was in Fethiye and was in a shop called Watch Market. They had 100's of watches, including tag. I was advised by a hotel staff member to go there and ask to "see the upstairs" which I was.

Apparently this is where a lot of UK sport's people and wealthy go and purchase reps which are £500-2000 a pop, but they're given a complete box set and warranty cards etc....going a little off subject but hey! :D

That's hilarious about the Turkey reps.. been there a couple of times myself. They do talk some absolute garbage.

Pretty poor form that you want to lie to people though dude..

But what's the point of buying a box to try and convince others people it's genuine not like your gonna carry it around, and nobody leaves their watch box on display for all to see they usually go in a wardrobe or loft never to be seen again

But a nice watch winder or a good quality box actually worth paying £50/60 for

That's hilarious..
Hilarious and gobsmacking at the same time. It was like aladins cave...

Low form? I'm willing to bet good money that the majority of people who buy watches from TD's here are passing them off as gen's to others when wearing them, if not, then why buy one in the first place? Especially $408+

At least I'm open about adding a rep to my collection I hope it's good enough to pass off as a gen rather than stumping an additional $2-3k on top of the price.

On the rep, the sub dial spacing is just off because it uses an A7750 movement (calibre 16). The gen uses the calibre 1887 movement. But being realistic, it is impossible to see the difference without actively looking for it close to your face.

Unless you're comparing it to a gen, it's very unlikely you'll be able to tell, guess I'll find out soon once I get one :D

I've held both at the same time, it's a very well made rep :) Only thing I ever regretted was not buying a bracelet for mine.
