To make this a more interesting thread conversationally, how many of you would:
(1) buy a replica gun
(ans) NONE
(2) Replica knife
(ans) many, if they were close
(3) Replica watch
(ans) all on this site
What does that say?

If you are really interested, what kind? WWII vintage? Like ROF Ishapore, Fazakerly, Longbranch, US lend/lease? Trade?I want a Lee Enfield to hang on the wall.
I completely disagree with this. Most of the guns I own are replicas. I would venture to say most other people as well. The difference is the plans for many models are public domain. Just like watches we purchase replicas that are high quality. My Kimber 1911 wasn't designed by kimber, it was replicated by them at a very high level.
On top of that I have a few ar15s milled and assembled by myself. I used readily available components to assemble quality functional firearms.
That being said, I see your point as well. Would I buy a cheaply made firearm from china that has a high failure rate with a kimber name on it? Probably not. The repercussions for a failure of a watch are nothing compared to the failure of a firearm.

I actually own a Replica HK91, called the PTR91. It's actually nicer than the original.
PTR bought the original tooling from HK and improved the tolerances on the firearm. So in this particular case a rep is better than the gen. LOL!
