Sorry,

But the buckle will NOT have the name Panerai on it or the logo....it will be a PVD screw in TC buckle that can be used on any strap.

Re: Logo - no way, it's owned by Cartier/Richemont

Elliot is right: he can't do this, it violates Cartier/Richemont's trademark of the "logo" & "Panerai" name.

Cartier/Richemont is now using the Logo after ignoring it during their first 6 years! ie, they recognized its cachet and hence value in their marketing of OEM buckles to the after-market crowd.

YEah - if elliot used the logo or name that would be bad news.

Nice to see he can help with this though.

my idea would be to have 2 choices of clf color...tan (match or white stiching) or black (match or golden stitiching)....and the pre v or gpf buckle...but if it be the gpf it wouldnt have no logo as the real gpf that we have seen...

I was thinking of going for one of Rolexfinder's strap since he offers them with PVD logo buckle which makes it even more attractive. Anyone tried these out, know what the quality is like ?

And SMAT straps are really nice if you want a vintage leather looking strap, his distressed cashmere is pretty much the same as my Europelli Baseball but with a vintage sew-in buckle and half the price.

Davidsen also now has the specs on the Pre-A buckle, but the GEN was a sew-in itself and so has to modified to a screw-in so it can be swapped to a preferred strap ... I'd prefer to match the case and buckle PVD ...

I do like the leather of SMAT's - much less so the buckle, and yeah, I'm not planning to scrape the buckle and blue the steel then .. etc etc.

It would be good to match the case + buckle PVD, but how long is this likely to take Davidsen (ie, I can get a great strap, an OK buckle and order the matched buckle later..]

cheers, BBB

I took advantage of one of Elliot's half-price coupons for his PVD buckle.

Screw-in, no logo, but real PVD and GPF style. I'm going to try it with the MP cognac and with the tan flesibile on the PVD watch. In the meantime I'll distress another strap to see how that looks.

I just bought a MP Cognac 26mm (had to get 130/90 as E. had sold out of the 120s .. I ordred a 120 but there was a mix-up and then the 120s were all gone by the time the order was corrected [smilie=crybaby2.gif] ] and now that I have it on the Fidd I think the colour would look *great* on a PVD - but we'd have to be able to get the PVD Pre-V.

Elliot mentioned that he has had MP's sans buckle, so maybe that would be an option [Faber?]
