My works been a bit of a mess as well.. It's not just Columbia, but all major research institutes in the US.. currently it's a battle of frozen grants due to some new legislation. Next week I'll have a slow week as our accounts have been frozen from the NIH [emoji20] oh well.. Only time will tell the future.

@FiloViridae mate I'm gutted for you as I know how much you love what you do. It's crap when the politics of it get in the way of what you're supposed to actually be doing. That's kinda what's happening with me at the moment. Praying for good things for you brother.

@Jeane123 you stay safe on those travels buddy, and I'll email you some more to keep you occupied. I need to crack on and get it finished after this section. It's a bit of a slog trying to fit it around work, being dad and being husband. I'm still very excited about it though, just need to keep my focus over the next few months.

Been to church this morning, now just running a few errands. We're off over to China Town in Liverpool this afternoon for the CNY festivities. It's always fun

@bkg! Yes, seems like I have the possibility for another 5yr journey.
We are trying for a chambers decision on a document(3hrs in a courtroom w/affidavits), they for a trial with me putting up security equal to the value of the last trial (number in my sig)
So basically they are trying to get the risk to be too large for me so I will give in.
If I get a chambers decision on the document it possibly would reverse the last judgment almost completely.
Big strategy meeting with the team on Thursday, filings Friday. Then its 30day wait before a hearing that will decide on how we proceed(chambers -trial).
Yep, 3 hrs sleep a night, angry, mixed with numb and frustration. I'm not really ready for a long haul again.
If this is one of those karma things I musta been one world class Bastard in my last life!

@FiloViridae Sorry your funding is getting messed with, Academia funding is so political I won't go to events or contribute to institutions anymore. Too often what I donated hardly gets to the projects that were pitched to me. My heart goes out to you, people that love what they do are the future of this world. Big or small, people that have a passion doing something need to be supported.

Hey brothers. Hope all is well. H it sounds pretty crap and I'm praying things will be a little easier for you. You are a good man and don't deserve or need this crap. Try to stay positive mate. Seems like you're still states side saying good night 13 hours ago?

Well I've been with my tattooist again tonight. Was supposed to be in with him over the weekend, but he called me up as he'd forgotten it was his daughter's birthday, D'oh!! He squeezed me in this evening for a few hours but it was getting on a bit so had to cut short. Got a good bit of solid outlining done, grey lined the rest of phase 2, and filled/shaded a small part of it almost right in my armpit. Gonna have to do a phase 2.5 to finish this section, but I can see how ace it's gonna look when the black work and shading goes on. Then onto phase 3 taking it onto the forearm and then phase 4 further around the shoulder/lat. Still lots to do....

The only thing is, it's eating all my extra funds so still no more watches for a long time. But I have my FCGP heading home soon which I'm super excited about that.

Hey guys, I am back home for a few days and then out again. This time it was pretty wild so I wasn't able to log in much (babysitting 200 drunk adult nerds) it's was an interesting one I can tell you that. Well here goes another week closer to CNY being done. I sure hope the guys are not overwhelmed with orders cause I want mine to come asap! Hahaha @bkg! I hope all is well with you brother! And thanks for the media you sent!
@Hazza, oh man I doubt you could have done something to deserve this, not the H I know. But you know what goes around does come around and these fools doing this to you constantly, it will come around to their turn. I will keep praying that all goes well there man!
@FiloViridae I think we need to step up our game plan man, Hawaii is calling and we have 6 more weeks (here comes a rant) SIX more weeks of winter? Where the f#%? Is this groundhog from FLorida? Damn 6 weeks puts us in march the snowiest month here in MN screw that damn groundhog with his promises. Coffee and beer in Hawaii here we come, Hahahaha

but oh well tomorrow the mrs and I will be out on another outing and then I am traveling next week and the week after that again. But otherwise all crazy at the jeane compound. But this time I will have the time to post at least

Well my meeting went well yesterday. Just hoping they actually have a job for me as I'm well hacked off where I am. It was a long old slog yesterday as it was a 5 hour 280 miles each way trip, and between the three directors, I was there for nearly two and half hours. Just waiting to hear now.

Whilst I was out yesterday, my wife sent me this, which put a big smile on my face. I know at least @xj4sonx will appreciate this one....

That's serious time they invested in you. If I'm looking at an important hire I have my decision 95% done before they walk in. If I invest that much time I'm trying to figure out my offer for the quality person sitting in front of me.

I'll hold a good thought for ya mate unless of course, the directors were women, then we all know where the time went :rofl:
