Hi all. I’m after a 5811 and completely new to patels.

Could someone kindly advise the best current case and also the best replacement dial / hands and date wheel at the current time? I’ve seen Buff mentioned but can’t see a way to contact him.

I’m aware the 5811 would need WG plating but would like to get a watch ordered and the best a available dial and hands also

welcome to the community, while I cant speak on what's the best 5811, I can give some insight on buff. He's on wechat though I can't confirm if he is still active. Last I looked his post there was old and not updated. I only saw him offering the 5711 dials as well as a 5712 before. I know there are modders out their like Peggy, available on whatsapp, who will sell you a Buff dial. However, it will be a 5711/5712 dial to the best of my knowledge. If you wish to try with peggy try the search bar for the most up to date information. Happy hunting

Happy hunting and I hope your able to find/build your dream nautilus. One other thing you can try is seeing if one does come up for sale. Be warned they typically sell quick. Have a good one.

after buying an AP 16202, the design basically coming from Gerald Genta, the Nautilus´ are kind of growing on me.
BUT since I have kids wrist, I definitely cannot wear anything larger than 40mm.
The smallest Nautilus, as far as I know, was the 3800, with 37 mm.
Which after getting accustomed to the gigantic AP, seems too small for me by now.
Was there ever one with 39 or 40mm and furthermore are there reps of those models out there?
I am only looking for 3 Hands date/no date.

To my knowledge there are no decent reps available smaller than the 5711 yet bigger than a 7118 let's say. If you're comfortable wearing the 15202/16202 the 5711 will suit your wrist well as it wears smaller than the RO. The end links hug the wrists in a more organic way than the RO resulting in a smoother transition. Even the original Jumbo Nautilus was comparable in size to the 5401 as they shared the same movement.

There is a smaller 38mm aquanaut coming from ZF with but that's not what you're looking for.

That is something you have to decide for yourself according to your preferences.

Generally the decision is made between 3KF and PPF (currently the go to factories looking at the 5711).

If you don't want to go through the hassle of mismatching blue dials stick to the white dial version. Both reps will do the trick whilst PPF is slightly better. If you're up to modding your watch go with a 3KF equipped with the 324 SC clone and put a custom dial + matching hands on it.
