IIs it the same color blue as the top half? I would definitely try making it all blue then, that would be good.

I had Sam idea
Color is the same but peeling removed the hour marker so I'm afraid the numbers will be removed if I peel it all off

hi, what was the end result of this? I recently bought a batman which be modded by BK. I insisted on the colour separation line, he told me it was almost impossible to do it correctly. just wanted to know what has been the best result yet. thanks

I'm doing the Pilworx paint mod on mine. 2 coats flat white primer, 2 coats metallic silver, 2 coats dull clear lacquer. Happy with the numbers, the triangle is testing me. I've stripped it bare twice now and am working on round three. I like the concept Pilworx documented of mixing with thinner, filling the cuts and letting the thinner evaporate out. The aftermarket insert I got is great, nice blue color, no noticeable transition lines.

Cutting the paint with thinned and letting the thinner evaporate out is going to leave thin coverage in the middle and more on the sides. The numbers have no real surface area, but the triangle does, so it’ll show more. You may have to cut it less so it stays thicker and won’t thin out.

Thanks for that tip bro. It's been doing exactly that. Too much build up in the corners. I may have to start over on the triangle. I've learned to be patient with this and not get frustrated. I can only do one coat a day anyway. It's not like I can't wear my Molotow paint modded Batman in the meantime. It's tolerable for the short term. Look at that triangle though - perfection! Need to achieve that with the enamel so it will last.

Capillary action (technical term) has ruined more than one project of mine. Steve at USD plating will be back at work here in a couple weeks and my insert will be up for plating. Hopefully this will be a solid answer for us.

Good thread! However although we can struggle to get the right blue, the hole in the cannon pinion will be always there, for me a big flaw easy to see in pics
