How is your noob v7 is holding. Did any of the pain come off the insert over the time?

Molotow will not last very long. It's longevity depends greatly on how much the insert is touched, especially by grimy fingers. Also depends on what the insert is exposed to, the worst offenders being water and alcohol based cleaners. It won't hold up to even a soft bristle brushing. Best cleaning method I have found is a tight mesh lint free cloth very lightly sprayed with Walmart eyeglass cleaner. Swipe across the insert surface lightly, taking care not to allow the cloth to contact the cutout markers at all, not even the sidewalls. All three of these Molotow jobs are about a year old, all of them had to be touched up at least once.

The relatively short lifespan of a Molotow mod is what drove me to a more lasting mod

The Noob was sold ages ago. But I paint mod most of my Rolex and generally speaking, they hold up well. I've had one or two go funny on me so I just repaint them.

I don't doubt it - all your photos look Gen like to me, you do an amazing job. I'm more of a slap dash kind of guy though. That probably took me for minutes tops (from walking up to my workbench to taking the photo).

Lol, too funny!

:(Still waiting for my QC for mine.
Now the confusing starts lol. Is the GMF insert that bad so it need a paint mod? What paint mod would be the greatest to do? With a brush, pen or spray paint? Tried to click into your links but didnt really figured out which one of Them was the “Updated version” of doing this?

one post shows spray painting the whole bezel. Another painting with a brush and the last with a pen?

Im a bit confused any help would be appreciated

Just wait and see what yours looks like to you when you get it bro. Might be fine as is. We all have different standards of acceptable appearance.

Hehe of course, but why dont just get the Best out of it as you guys did it. Looks good with your mod bro. Any chance of making a step by step guide with the Best mod solution? How would you recommend to do? Take off the whole insert and then spray it?

If you are going to do a spray mod, yes the insert needs to be removed. If you really want to do a paint mod, I'd recommend buying a cheap aftermarket insert and practising some different techniques with it. There's plenty of tutorials and explanations on the forum already. You can make a Molotow mod last if you keep your grimy mitts off your insert, clean it regularly, and touch it up periodically. I NEVER touch my bezels intentionally, except to reset them if they get bumped off zero accidentally. People who need something to fidget with should buy one of these and leave their bezels alone, lol.

If you want a more permanent paint mod, spray mod will do that. If you are doing a Sub bezel, you can save a lot of scraping by taping off open spaces. I didn't bother on a GMT bezel as there aren't a lot of open spaces. I wouldn't try this for the first time on an insert you want to keep using. It's pretty hard to scratch ceramic but it will scratch. Scraping the paint off the flat top layer is remarkably easy. NOT scraping it out of any of the cutouts (including sidewalls) takes a steady hand and some concentrated care. Like most things in life, it's quick and easy to do once you acquire the skill. I did the Batman bezel in its entirety in about an hour. I've easily spent double that amount of time doing Molotow paint mods. I've also done enamel paint mods with enamel plus thinner. These will last longer than Molotow, but are challenging to keep the paint from running toward the sidewalls and getting thin in the middle. Non pearl triangles are really tough to achieve a uniform layer when capillary painting with thinner.

Some people were masters of that technique

Yes CG shape is different but that insert looks pretty damn good, even numbers don’t look that bad.

Just got mine. Looks good but primarily throwing it up for sale as the jubilee really isn’t my thing

This one is coming to me. I’ll do a comparison wit my BK Noob BLNR and also see if the Noob oyster and GMF jubilee are interchangeable.
