I would also add that the spring bars are a little thin so the strap does not feel as secure as it should against the case. A pair of 1.8 20mm spring bars fixed that.

The watch looks great and I’m glad the movement transfer worked out, thanks for info also. Would love to know what the watchmaker did with the chrono hand as the Asian tube size is normally larger than the Swiss version. Did he change the tube all together? or use adhesive in the hand tube? I’m thinking of doing the same to mine.

I recall he mentioned he had to use a special cement on a rivet, but no idea what that meant.

Haha sounds innovative, probably sleeved with a small rivet then broached to fit. Thanks again for the info mate it’ll be a great help to anyone doing this upgrade.

Finally received the top time and immediately had to quieten down That rotor it was ringing like a bicycle bell lol.

Totally didn’t even realise this was a snap back caseback, it was very easy to remove which worried me a bit. Upon installing it back onto the watch I noticed that it doesn’t actually “snap back” it just pushes in and doesn’t get that nice pop once secure. if you use a press to press the caseback on the o-ring gasket just bulges out of the knife slots which is definitely not good!. Although not a good feature for this watch and a little disappointed about that but the watch looks sensational!!. I wouldn’t count on this watch being very waterproof at all as it feels like the back is literally just sitting in place with nothing but a very slight interference fit.

I know the feeling, mine should arrive (hopefully) any day after some wait!

I’ve never felt the need to silence the rotor before but sounds like it needs to be done, I think I might try it...how did you do on yours, I’m assuming oil on rotor what did you use?

I await your comments regarding silencing the rotor, it is important for me to know what can be done before ordering it.

I actually used a light synthetic grease for setting movement components, the labels work off so can’t remember what it’s called, Kluber is the brand. I packed the bearing race with it run the rotor for a while then clean the excess. Seems to work okay definitely quieter, I used moebius in the past also.

Interested to know how others go with reinstalling the case back

Mine arrived this morning, stunning watch and am keen to take the case back off but after trying for a while with micro screwdriver it’s not budging:(

I think I’ll get get a case back knife and try again.

Glad it arrived safe mate, I noticed mine had a crooked marker @6 so had to open again to straighten it. The case back gets easier to put on every time I take it off lol hopefully don’t need to remove it again. Yeah definitely use a bezel & case knife it should come off pretty easily

You had me worried...I’ve been looking at it all morning but had to check again and thankfully all markers are aligned:)

Just ordered a kit off Amazon so will try again to open it once that arrives, not that I need to but am just more curious.

Also surprised at the softness of the strap, usually rep straps are rubbish...time will tell how it holds up.

Pity its 20mm lug as I have a gen mesh bracelet that’s 22mm from a SOHII that would add to this great vintage look.

Ah you’re lucky with the dial I was annoyed I couldn’t unsee it lol.
The strap surprisingly isn’t bad at all but one of The white top stitches came out this afternoon haha definitely would go good on the gen 20mm mesh strap I’m looking at purchasing one if the watch holds up

So after a journey with some Amazon purchases I got the case back off and removed the rotor but wasn’t sure where to apply any grease so back on it went (damn that screw is tiny). I couldn’t get the case back on again so I bought a press tool and it was easy in the end.

Agree the strap is surprisingly good, I’d like a brown or black rally style like the DUES model.

I have had the gen 24mm and have the 22mm gen Milanese bracelet but didn’t know the 20mm existed...I’ll have to look into it as I think it would look fantastic on it, lovely vintage style.

Good work mate, you can add oil to the little bearing race on the rotor, it’s the little assembly that the screw goes through to bolt it on.

I’m also looking at a gen 20mm mesh bracelet, Breitling do make them and I think it’ll be a great option to have. I ended up ordering a black genuine croc strap for winter

If somebody is looking for a spare rep strap from the Breitling Top Time, i just put one on sale in the Sales department, because it is way too short for my wrist. The strap is new and unworn.
