I want to order a box but i think customs is going to be hard on this one
Well that brings up an interesting point....when I received mine it was marked on the customs form "watch box". That was a first as all the other stuff I get is usually marked as something else. One would think it should have no trouble clearing customs as it isn’t a replica but is an original legitimate box. Seizure usually happens with counterfeit goods or unlicensed import of genuine goods. Here in the USA it is illegal to import in a Rolex watch outside of channels (the AD) but you might ask the seller if he has shipped with success to your country (if not in the US).

Depends on the watch... Rolex is usually inbetween the lugs, model number at the 12 o'clock position with serial number at the 6 o'clock position. Some vintage models like some of the DRSD's have it inside the case back too. The new DSSD has the model numer but no serial between the lugs. It is now on the rehaut only. I have heard that it is also inside the case somewhere but as no one I know has actually opened up a genuine DSSD it is as of yet unconfirmed.
EXCELLENT and very thorough review. I've found the original box sets ranging for 285.00-415.00, depending on enclosed accessories. I got basically the same quality boxes you received from PT (which btw it has been brought to my attention that my "Submariner" booklet is the older style booklet in the newer style box) and we get what we pay for.

DA, Great write up and pictures. I've always been curious if the box my gen 16613 came in was a gen also (I bought the watch from an ebay dealer, had it checked by my AD the day it arrived), now I know it is.
But you just made a comment about only getting watches from AD's; did you know Costco sells one model of Rolex? We just had a store open in our small town and when my wife and I were in there last week,
I saw the watch case and wandered over, low and behold, there was a Rolex. I can't remember what model, but it was selling for about 5k

I had heard about Costco selling Rolex watches before but my local one doesnt stock any models. A few of them in Atlanta may (3 hours away). I'd love to know which model is at your Costco the next time you go in. Costco web site doesnt list any Rolex models.

Thank you Spirit, I almost just threw away a gen tag! I guess I have an old one and a new one. I saw the pictures in DA's post and thought one of my tags was a rep until you mentioned
the hologram extending to the sides over the printing and the rope color matching the box interior color.
I also have the one with the hologram just in the center circle with a single crown and the green/gold rope.
Can't even remember where I got the second one.
