Gen vs Vsf hulk

Hey guys , first time doing this so go easy on me. So I managed to get a hold of gen hulk for a side by side. I’m not that great at spotting Rolex flaws since these are my first Rolex reps, so here goes.
Initial observation is the obviously the colour. Darker shade in the gen. The Vsf gets close but side by side quite a difference in certain light and the laser line as pointed out by many vsf owner (which to be honest looks kind of cool). The bracelet also doesn’t seem as solid as the gen and a slight cheaper feeling quality. The case feels the same , bezel action also. Rehaut is cleaner on gen on close inspection but you can’t tell unless you are using macro lens on a decent phone . Lume is good and definitely close to gen. I’m not sure if it’s placebo but it’s as though the gen feels slightly heavier but it could just be my mind playing tricks.
Purchased a hulk as well as a 126610 LN. On to the pics .

Wow, quite a tell on the dial color, considering the light angle was exactly the same. VSF needs to darken it.

It can definitely look the same in certain angles but very few side by side defo a difference in most situations.

I did a similar comparison leading me to swap dials from VS to ZF. ZF and even Clean was definitely able to replicate the “black” colors of dial in lower light.

This is something I’m gonna look at also, just wana make sure the rest of the dial is good too , text etc

Well the gen hulk you’re comparing is an older model. Maybe pre-2016 with a Mark I dial. So the font is going to have some differences between VS and ZF hulks regardless.

Yep definitely, i gathered it was an older model from the some of the research I did and found text can differ. I think unless your next to someone with a gen and in certain conditions you shouldn’t get called out . I have a lot more pics but Tapatalk isn’t letting upload any more .

Nope you did a good job with the review for first time. I agree with the bracelet though. I felt the same with mine. If you feel a ZF it feels much closer to gen quality. Overall the ZF hulk is the best buy.

This is your opinion, with the flaws you can live with. The best hulk has been discussed in the "who made the best hulk" thread. I've had a zf and vsf next to each other and felt the zf case was off and the vr3135 didn't feel as smooth as the vs3135.

One thing I didn’t touch on was the movement, can’t speak for the zf, but the vsf is smooth and feels great. Case is also very gen like. If it wasn’t for the bracelet “the gen like feel” would have been identical to gen. I may try to change the bracelet in the future , anyone know if the gen fits?

Try massaging a little oil into the bracelet, see if that helps. It transformed a TC 93250 bracelet of mine, the clasp and everything feels so much better after a little lubricant. Or if it's sharp edges you have you can soften them with a Bergeon buff stick, costs £2 and takes 2 just mins.

Saying that, all my VSF bracelets were great and gen like, hopefully it's just needing fed and you haven't been papped with a different cheaper bracelet.

Yes that’s what I thought it might need , it’s quite squeaky at the moment . One other thing I forgot to check was the lugs. The vsf has super sharp lugs at the end . I can’t remember what the gen were like . The 12260LN has smooth lugs.

Stil think CF/ZF have better dial, hands, rehaut and insert v4.
But vsf better overall. Not sure how the newest ZF watches are.

ZF has the best hulk rep dial you can find. That's just ridiculous that I have to avoid direct light to take a pic of my VSF hulk or to enjoy the dial.

I can also pull you up a list of threads from members VSF clasp coronet falling off and bezel becoming stuck.

Yes the vs3135 is a better movement but the VR 3135 is great too and with service which all movements need btw, will feel "smooth".
Since it's a 3135, the VS3135 is not significant enough to overlook it's many hulk flaws and buy it. It's not a noob4130 movement situation here.

None of the rest you listed are factually accurate when comparing the ZF and VS 116610LV to gen. Which I have.

Mmmm. You must have that gen model with the sharp pointy lugs that VSF has. Or the faint bracelet engraving model VSF has. Or the bad cyclops VSF has.

VSF has better movement, hands and dial markers and QC.
