Imo i think its a great idea and still will be less than half the price. But if you can source a genuine movement i will buy it from you for literally any price. They are unbelievably hard to find. The last “genuine” i saw online was a fake and if its being sold on ebay as a complete working movement it is almost certainly fake.

Like, “hard to find” is an understatement. It will be multiple thousand dollars if you ever see one in the next 5 years. There may be 2 max online in that time.
Even just the basic ETA 6497-2 non-decorated are no longer sold to public and extremely rare. There is a swiss company called master of time but their movements are weird and ugly but if you have a solid caseback it would imo be completely worth it.

How much are they asking for?

250 US$. I took a little research in this company and everything smells fishy. These "Swiss Made" Movements are produced in the first floor of this building, where Master of Time SA shares the floors with two Internet-Trading-Companies for imported cloths and shoes. The head of Master of Time had a company for wholesale/import with watches before. For me this looks like they sell Chinese Movements labeled as "Swiss Made". Maybe they put some decorations from another Chinese Supplier on the movements, which is then a kind of "Swiss Made" ;-)
But of course I may bee wrong.

I've bought a half dozen movements from this vendor. ETA 2834, ETA 2936 and SW200s. katt has installed a couple, and said he enjoyed working on the Swiss movements. I am pretty sure they are on the up and up.

Yes, but these where from ETA and Sellita, two very very well known Swiss companies and not the stated "own produced" movements of this vendor ;-)

Good to hear. I just bought a ETA 7750 from them and I let you know if there is issues with the GEN hands not fitting.

Ok let’s look at the facts:
-mainplate finishing is asian quality 100%
-no ETA stamp (they say it’s not ETA in the description)
-no Y-shaped incabloc
-“blued” screws are the asian blue coated type

Everything about this movements screams asian.

Bottom line: it’s a pimped up asian movement, finished in “Shitinerand” so they can get away with “Swiss Made”

Not worth your money.

Buddy nobody is claiming its original eta. Its a clone. But its supposedly an asian clone.

True but calling it “100% swiss made” and TOP GRADE is a bridge too far.

The seller is b_line55cc on eBay. Master of TIme is on the logo on their store. The ETAs and Sellitas are genuine. The 6497 appears to be Chinese, not Swiss according to the experts on this thread.

Swiss law allows the “Swiss Made” label to be applied if 60% of the value is created in Switzerland.
So you can import $20 worth of Chinese parts and pay someone in Switzerland $40 to assemble the movement and voila, Swiss made.

Been there :)
There was a moment when I was wearing quite a lot the 622 and bought an ETA movement for a swap, but after getting another PAM I kinda decided to postpone shipping to Domi. The movement should be somewhere waiting for that day. So to some up, just get another rep and have fun..
