Original the midcase was polished to some kind of satine shade, shiny but with low gloss.

Wouldn't this be technically considered a replica or at least a franken?Here is an interesting Modern Milsub custom build.

When we build it , it would be a replica. when a fancy pants custom shop does it. its special edition lol
Be fair.
If you start from a gen Rolex, it would also count as an artisan custom work.
You would lack the reputation pricing power though
Installed an athaya crown ans my misub project is complete and i am very pleased with it.
After inspiration from 369mafia, my "first draft" Wildman Milsub. Need to work on the lume match (toasted almond hour markers vs burnt toast hands lume - new dial & hands on order from Raffles). Notwithstanding, a truly enjoyable way to spend a Saturday morning...
