First time ordering a rep, chose Hont because of pricing

Chill out man I really don't care that much, certainly not enough to bother opening the back and buying special equipment

Exactly that kinda freaking attitude why do old members hesitate to be nice to new members who ask dumb questions. You asked a question, other members answered you, and then you said you didn't care. Then why TF you ask? Why don't you just STFU, and take your rep to swindle others?

My account is older than yours bro 🤣

That tesla dude is just argumentative, all I asked is how long it takes for Hont to regulate a watch.

I'm not going to buy specialist equipment to measure it at home, now am I going to ever get a watch serviced. So if prefer it to be a little more accurate before it leaves the TD. That is all.

I'm interested to know how it works yes, and that's why I did some research prior to asking. But I'm not going to fix it regardless of how fast/slow it is.

Pretend I ordered a football from China, I've asked the TD to pump it up before it ships. I don't have a pump at home. So I'd rather have some air in there than nothing. I now understand it might go a bit flat on the journey, but it's better than it having no air to start with.

I once had a rep regulated by a watchmaker, he showed me a timegrapher of +-1sec. The watch arrived within a week, and I put it on my timegrapher, it is +17 sec.

So, did the watchmaker lie to me and show me a fake result? Hell no! It is because of the mishandling of the courier, and the shockproof function of the balance is not as good as gen. So your "pre-regulate" from the TD is useless.

A standard grade Gen ETA is deemed ok at +/- 30s per day out of the factory in Switzerland

Plus even Swatch Group does not guarantee accuracy when the watch is bought online and shipped.

What’s in your rep is a cheap chinese clone worth a quarter of the gen ETA.

+17s/day in your hand after crossing half the globe is actually very good.

And if you don’t know how to ajust a watch accuracy, a timegrapher is useless to you. You don’t even know what the numbers mean

You = @Lew 🤗

That's what people will typically say when confronted with facts or explanations that they don't agree with. I guess it would be easier to just throw some BS answer that you'd gobble up. Instead, we try to explain things in layman's terms.

Agree with you, completely. Same with a watch I purchased. It read +4 sec/day. When I got it, it read -11. It had a long, rough journey across the pond. I regulated it, life is good. You are 100% right. It's not a gen. I think some folks may forget that most of these are a pig in a suit (for less or better words) :)

This cracks me up. Not everyone likes hearing, "how it is". You're to the point, but I've also seen your posts help a lot of people, including myself. A sensitive society, we live in.

I would think that most people would prefer facts and valuable information, instead of having smoke blown up their arse

You'd think. People want a chocolate chip cookie and a reach around because they did their own laundry. Great, you did what you are obligated to, now how do you contribute to society? That's right, they probably don't. Leeches.

Jesus has nothing to do with reps. He might, but I think he can afford gens, tbh.

Wow, I must say, this thread has been quite the educational experience. Who knew that asking a simple question about regulation times would lead to a deep dive into the intricacies of watch movements, shipping impacts, and even societal commentary? Truly enlightening.

I appreciate the passion and detailed explanations, but let's not forget the original question: How long does it typically take for Hont to regulate a watch? I didn't realize I was opening Pandora's box here.

To clarify, I'm not planning to become a horologist overnight or invest in a timegrapher. I just wanted to know if I should expect a week or a month for the regulation process. But hey, thanks for the crash course in watchmaking and the philosophical musings on humanity.

Next time, I'll be sure to ask about the meaning of life when I really just want to know where the nearest coffee shop is. Cheers!

The answer to your question is 1 minute to maybe an hour. It doesn't take long. The question you should ask though is when does he have time to do it? When will he do it? We can only vaguely answer one of these questions.

Lew why don't you message Hont about how long they will take and how much to regulate a watch because I am sure they will give you the answer you desire.

If you regulate the watch before shipping by the time you get the damn thing it will probably need to be regulated again. This answer has already been given to you as a response but you seem to ignore what the good members here tell you.

A 3 years "old" member who doesn't know shit about how to regulate his rep and stated that he doesn't care. What did you say just now? Right! Proper circle jerk!

Thank you for demonstrating that to us. I admire your nerve.

To answer your question, it takes him between a day to three weeks, depending on when he gets to it.
