that is correct but I believe along with the midcase, the bottom cover is rubberized titanium also.

I would say the ZF is more accurate, the top plate can be modified to be closer to gen.

The best CNC cases are NTPT though. They are pretty much 1:1 with Gen
I'm pretty sure the NTPT is the exact same stuff by now, I've seen blocks of it for sale on the depths of Alibaba and the secret was to use thinner carbon sheets and offset them by 45 degrees per layer instead of 90, it makes sense that they've made that exactly the same. The ceramics are getting there but aren't quite right yet, although they're close enough for me.

Midcase is the rubberized titanium, front and back bezels are ATZ ceramic. As far as I know the ZFs use the same material. I only have the black BBR so can't compare directly but the white ZF seems to be different and better.

good stuff fellas! thanks for the quick and informative answers :) debating on parting ways with my white 55 for an NTPT. may even say screw it and get a 35 after all this time. my newly acquired zf aquanaut blows my 55 out of the water in every aspect and hasn't left my wrist in days, so it might be time to take the plunge

To add another important aspect: the diameter of the NTPT tube that the case-blocks were cut out off played an important role.

As the curvature of the rep cases never really was the same they weren‘t abled to match the pattern that only appears when the layers are sanded in relation to its curvature. Like sheets of plywood sanded down to show the underlying layers.

After ZF got the case shape right things went straight up. There is a reason RM stopped using NTPT like they used to haha

I never thought of that but you're almost certainly correct, the layer lines on the bezels have always been curved and the patterns were too complex for being milled from straight blocks, whereas the midcases have been straight-lined and have much less intricate patterns. The bezels must be milled from curved stock like a tube or curved sheet to get those qualities. And RM has been leaning heavily into the quartz NTPTs and the ceramics or combinations thereof instead of regular NTPT lately; the 35-03 in carbon they just released is the first straight NTPT watch in at least a couple years if I remember right

Anyone got the new movement? I’ve seen them for around 1200$ on Chinese marketplaces. Not sure if I should order one because there is no data on reliability.

1200 is only the movement or the whole watch with the case?

I have it. Seems solid . So far atleast !

The new clone V2 is supposed to have a 100+ hour PR, and increased reliability. It’s expensive though

There are 3 versions now it seems. I haven’t seen it for 1200$ lol more like 3500$ + for the cheapest version. The v2 is a direct clone but much more expensive
I can confirm this prices too

I don't understand how the supposed Vaucher based clone has a power reserve over double the gen. If there's a 100hr reserve it's not coming from the barrels in the Vaucher seed unless they're running the thing at like 2/2.5hz

Lmao good sales technique eh. Their movements are better then rm themselves 😂

Hope to test the new version one day
