But I can understand where Luth is coming from. So much time has been spent knowing everything, the only way to strut his stuff is by shitting on all the new guys. That and he has a lot of free time since he needs to re-up his Cialis prescription.

Who is this Alice and why does everyone spell her name like that??

Introduce your woman to me, and let her decide.
But you - you definitely need a brain enlargement surgery.

I suppose I could... maybe when we're back in CA, we'll make it to one of the gtg's and you can tell her yourself.

But I'm just warning you, you will not like her... she looks nothing like a 14 year old Asian boy.

Hello, where do I get the best submariner?

(Sorry, this was ironic... )

Hi my name is Hanns, I am from germany. I am here since June and I am here a lot. Sub no date bought from TD, PAM 359 from Forum member, Hulk and two more Pams ordered ... Hey, RWI changed my life the last weeks. i am an addict. Those damn Panerais ....Its ALE s fault!

hey, I am Mod since years in a rather big forum in Europe. My English is not good enough to argue with you, but I wanna say that I dont believe in mandatory introduction.

I hope, I can someday contribute a little bit to RWI. For now. I just wanna thank all that help running this forum. Newbies suck, true. But don't forget: There are persons on the other site of the internet, behind the screens and keyboards ... And a stranger is maybe just a friend that you don't know.

Peace and  from my Monday evening.
Hanns

RWI has changed since the bully brigade picked up their toys and left RWG 1.1 to bring their 'expertise' and juvenile 'manners' here, as evidenced by how this thread starts devolving after too long.

We don't need no stinkin' introduction rules IMHO. Other rep forums like the two RWGs and RepGeek are much friendlier and with much less self righteous, dogmatic, fascist leaning, self appointed bullying.

Though the BB bring a ton of quality helpful contribution potential to RWI, it is at needless cost. The flippant jabs can be fun from their perspective, and it all means very little in any scheme of things, it is still disconcerting and, I agree with the OP that it discourages a broader community, hence leading to about '100 regular' participants; I also wonder how much this encourages backdoor transactions as eluded by one of the earlier comments.

(Asbestos underwear on)
:picard: :p

PS http://www.rwgforum.net seems to be the most friendly. :)

But who has best 1:1 ladyboy ? Where is the expert of all things ?? :hehehe:

HAHAHAHA!!!

I can only assume those that dabble in the ladyboys aren't too worried about accuracy. But... I do know of one resident "expert", we'll wait for him to chime in again.

Im sure that right now, there is a new member typing his first post. Abandon this thread and go a lie in wait. He may ask a question, and Im sure someone will be ready for him.

As to the topic of this thread, I see that some responses believe that an introduction would cause new members to become more polite and do research before asking already answered questions, but I dont believe that a two-line first post saying hi will change the poorly behaved kids.

I think what will make a difference is people taking time to answer an occasional question with patience. Not every time...but at least some of the time.

What started me with this thread was the assumption that people should do this intro, and it seemed kinda out-of-the-blue to me. It irks me when it is assumed that one or a few persons' standards are assumed to be everyone's standard.

Agree with you on that... If a Mod or Admin doesnt care about an intro who gives a rip. The loud mouths don't dictate everything here

Loudmouths ruin the place

As a newbie it was a huge turn off to see a thread of mine in the so called flame free section bombarded with childish comments.

One thing it did do was to expose the asswipes that linger here.

Even in the real world, I respond the same. I don't wake up every morning to teach others how to behave. Especially the "rude" ones. I'd rather let it slide and let other "rude" people deal with them

+1. If their parents didn't get them up to some people's standards in 18 odd years then I doubt a chastising reply to their first post is going to make much impact.

Actually, it wasn't him that time. But I have to side with Luth on this one. You don't have to give a full report on yourself. But to parade yourself in with " OMG EMERGENCY !!! NEED BEST ROLEX SUB NOW !!!! " is just plain stupid. Forums have been around for quite some time. No matter which one you join, you tread lightly at first. It just shows manners.

First thing pal, I never posted what you say I posted. So you show yourself to be dishonest. Second thing, I would never, on pain of death, write OMG, LOL, etc. or use exclamation points, let alone three. Last time I checked, I was still in full possession of my testicles.

Relax man. No one's saying you posted that, it's just an example of the kind of conduct that might not be appreciated from a first post, and a very general one at that.

Exactly! Q got measured, polite replies, not rudeness and THAT is what I expect to see! I am getting very tired of the bully boy brigade and have had just about enough of it.

There is no rule that says you must introduce yourself, why should there be? It was never an issue until recently and by god it's going to cease to be one, mmkay? If people simply wish to be rude to noobs they can piss off and do so somewhere else.

If a noob is demanding answers to 20 questions he could learn by reading that's another matter but if he's asking a simple question or two either answer it or move on! This needs to stop and stop it will, I am not going to have this place gain a reputation for being rude to new members, it is not the personal sandpit of six or eight people who need lessons in manners themselves before they dish them out to others!

IF YOU DON"T LIKE A POST, DON'T REPLY, CLEAR?

I was looking at your first thread http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/wanted-vintage-sub-156540?t=156540 posted in the Wanted section, the answer you got was totally uncalled for  I don't see this happening on any other forums no matter of their profile. People post in the wanted section all the time, if you have the item just ask them in private about some references. Posting some made up rule that they need to write a CV before they do anything here is a lot more rude.
