I agree with what
legend just said and I might take it further—
I have reps and frankens of gens I own just to be able to wear them without fear or worry about causing devaluation.
But some might say true luxury would be not to care about damaging valuable gens but just wearing them. Many schools of thought about that, but there is something to be said about not squirreling mint pieces in a safe, or on the other hand not damaging one of a kind pieces carelessly.
Having said that, I’m more personally invested in some frankens that took a long time to source or to have assembled for me— more emotionally invested than any gen, regardless of the monetary value.
This thread was devised to help with minor wear and scars from casual wear, using techniques that wouldn’t remove a lot of metal, require a lot of time or skill, or need special equipment. The offshore has some of the most dramatic juxtapositions of sharp and polished edges of any line, and this write up was designed to restore some of those.
