@manodeoro
Hang in there. My condolences for the loss of your father. The tough times will pass and the good memories will take their place. Keep the faith.

I disappeared for a long time and I apologize for my long silence.

In March I had to go into hospital for major spinal surgery.
As I began my convalescence and was about to post on RWI again my father's condition, which was suffering from Alzheimer's in its final stages, seriously worsened.
So I took the time to look after him during his final weeks.

The last few days were terrible.
He called me by the first names of other men in my family, sometimes my uncle, sometimes my cousins, while he spoke to me of his son ... knowing that I was in fact his only son.
On Sunday April 21 my father was hospitalized and placed on respiratory assistance, but his kidneys stopped working and after a few hours his heart stopped beating.
His funeral took place on Monday April 29th.
I'm extremely sad, but I'm also relieved because I know that his suffering is over.

I'm going to slowly get back to work on my current watchmaking projects.
Those of you who are waiting for watches or dials from me need not worry, I will work as fast as I can to complete all these projects.
And those who have sent me messages for advice or requests while I've been away, please be patient ... I'll get back to you in the next few weeks.
Je te présente toutes mes condoléances. À toi, ainsi qu’à tes proches
I offer all my condolences to you and your loved ones.
Daniel.

Hello all

I'm back here once again after another long period but I this time I'm REALLY back.
What happened ?... It seems that taking my father from me was not enough for Karma

Two weeks later the company I've been working for since 2005 explained me that, considering my age, I should consider retiring.
I'm old indeed ... close to 65 ... but I still have to work for 2 years to get a complete pension, so I could not accept and started to negociate a way to get some money for the next 2 years.
It took a bit of time to find an agreemend but we found it lasr week.
During next summer me and the company will sign a "termination agreement" (in France we say "rupture conventionnelle") so I will work until end of december then I'll receive an unemployment compensation for the next 2 years, plus a dismissal package.

After being depressed for some time now I consider this as a blessing in disguise.
Starting from next January, and for the next years, I will be 100% free so I will 100% focus on dial making and watch making.
I will even create my own watchwork company.

Nevertheless ... I still have some watch works to finish and people may ask what's going on in the meantime so here's what I will do ...

1 - Some works are finished ... I will send pics of it to all members involved
If they're OK with my work I will ship it to their owners
If they're not OK or got tired of waiting and changed their mind I will refind them for the parts they sent funds for

2 - some works are not finished ... and I can't promise they will be finished before next october
I don't want to force people to wait anymore so I will offer them to decide if they prefer to wait until next october or be refunded for the parts they sent to me

I promise to do 1 and 2 by the end of the week.

3 - I have dozens of PMs waiting ... I will read every one of it and send answers by the end of July
Members asking for advice will get a quick answer ...
Members asking for some work to be done will get an answer too ... but I won't take any new work before next September

See you next week ... I'll post updates about all this

For once I am speechless. You have been to hell and back, and then you get another bucket load thrown at you.

All I can say is I understand fully, and wish you all the best in your endeavours, may your god go with you and may you have every success when you start your new enterprise.

Good luck on the path back. Obviously everyone here shares a passion for the hobby but I hope you get healthy and happy before you worry about anything here.

What is the time frame for everyone being contacted, people receiving their items and or money back, etc?

We were not expecting this kind of an announcement. We can discuss future aspirations once 100% of the people are made whole.

It's not nice to hear that you've had a hard time in the last few months. I hope you can live with the outcome and look to the future.
For my part, I'm looking forward to the next steps in our twin build project. Take the time you need or get in touch (via PM) if you want to cancel it.

@manodeoro now you are back, how about contacting everyone whose watches you still have because I know for a fact there are some still waiting to hear from you, this is unacceptable. If you do not make contact, action will be taken.
